Dogs

Now go to your local dog shelter, rescue a puppy in need and begin a new relationship. That's my advise anyway.

Thanks everyone. Slept about an hour. Just a sick stomach feeling. Gave him a bunch of leftovers a few minutes ago. Told him what was happening and why. Then he licked my face.
He has never done that in 14 years.

I'll be fine soon. Thanks again.

I feel so bad for you and your family. Just remember the good times. You'll always remember when he licked your face and said goodbye. He knew it was time and loved you. Prayers for you Sparta...

Doing that Monday bro

I'm so glad to hear that. Let me know if you have trouble finding one you like, and I can put you in touch with a dog rescue lady in the Tullahoma area.

I realize that having trouble finding one is not likely, but just in case. If you're like me, you'll want to take several of them home. :)

I am going to tell the fam to pick out a rescue puppy.

My sentiments as well. Very well said souce. Dang allergies are acting up again.

Sparty, get ye a bluetick that won't hunt that a local cooner plans to cull or give away! Smokey it on up! My condolences

My condolences sent Sparta. As I wrote a few pages back, I lost my 13 year old beagle on March 22nd. It was such a painful transition that was difficult to go through. I promise it will get better in due time. I miss my old dog a lot but I know she's happy and no longer suffering. I waited nearly two months before I got another dog. Stay strong brother.

Told the wife to take the boys and go to death row and pick up another dog today before its too late. Halle, our other lab, had been comforting him like an old lady as mousse got worse. She is depressed and keeps staring to the street like she is waiting for him to come back. He used to roam around and always come back. Wife is depressed too.
Mousse would be pissed if we waited longer.

We will expect to see pictures of the blessed new dog ASAP!

Edit: By the way, please feel free to contact me if any behavioral problems develop. I know it's not your first rodeo, but I'm always happy to help where I can, and some rescues can present special challenges. It just makes you appreciate the dog even more when the challenge is overcome.

I don't pretend to know everything, but I've learned a thing or two over the years of training and rescuing dogs.

A couple of years back I put some of my experiences and recommendations in a blog post, if you're interested: So you have a new puppy, now what?
