The breeder north of Atlanta we got Nora from just had a new litter. . . Just saying! They really are fun dogs, and her parents are a solid line.

I do have a boxer/Boston mix named Gus who pitches in.

My little mutt just passed away. She was 15. I could tell something was wrong last night. She was yelping like she needed help, and wouldn't drink her water. I took her to the vet this morning and she died while we were in the waiting room. It's absolutely devastating. I can't believe it.

I didn't like your post because it felt wrong to like the passing of your dog. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I had the same thing happen to one of my dogs. I was sitting in the lobby waiting to discuss the hardest decision of pet ownership. She passed just as they called her name. That was 15 years ago, and I am still not over it. To be honest, I will never get over it. Hang on to all those great memories.

If God created something better than a dog, he kept it for himself. Dogs are the definition of unconditional, unrelentless love. They don't care how wealthy you are or what you have. They will gladly lie on the bare ground by their master. I have even seen them lying on the grave after the owner has passed. This dedication is just one of the reasons I prefer dogs over most people. JMHO

Thank you and to everyone else for the kind thoughts. I miss her so much it's hard to put in words. She had a little howl when she wanted something, especially when it was time to get up. I thought I heard it this morning, but she's gone.

The missus’ 19-yr old cat likely has had a stroke. The look in her eyes is like a Margaret Keane painting. She falls over while grooming herself. She begs for treats, and when I put them down for her, I have to guide her to them. It’s as if she doesn’t recognize things. One blessed thing is that she yowls less. She’ll sit and stare at nothing wherever she happens to be. We love her…
