We now have Buck, Bella, Clyde , and Maxi (dogs) tricksy, Jack And Matty (cats)

I need a goat and 3 chickens and I'll be set.

My GSDs that live out on the farm with us....

This big boy is Ruger he was 10 months old in this photo weighing in at 95lbs. He is now 1yr old. He is loving life on the farm and doing great in his training.

My girl Nyssa... Protection and Service trained 4yr old black-sable and the best GSD I have ever been around...

These young guys are Loki and Thor.We rescued these two 8-month old pups early last year. Worked with them to evaluate and start basic training. I placed them with a friend who is finishing training them as service dogs for Wounded Warriors.

I do not have a photo on hand to post, but we also have a rescued 10yr old GSD/Golden Retriever mix. She is a sweetheart who's family decided they did not want her any more because she was getting older (wth?). She still runs and plays, loves rides in the farm truck and piling up on the couch to watch the Vols play.

It is amazing how attached we become to them. No matter how bad a day I have had at the office, I know everything will be ok when I can come home to a great wife and she and I can stroll around the farm with the GSDs running and playing around us.

Also, people here on VN convinced me to adopt and I am so glad I did. I encourage everyone to adopt.

Agreed, All of our dogs are adoptions or rescues. I got the big pup Ruger from a family in Oak Ridge about 2 months ago. They got him as a baby, but found out they did not have time and he was more dog than they wanted.

Right. So many good dogs need homes. Kinda pisses me off when people ditch their dogs. 2 months isn't that bad, but honestly, the dog thinks you're family. To me it's like giving up a kid. Science is finding out (confirming) more and more that dogs are emotionally like people in a lot of ways. Like they romantacize their relationships. Just seeing you releases endorphins, type stuff.

The 10yr old GSD/Reteiver mix I mentioned in my first post is an example. This family had her since she was a puppy. She stayed inside and live with them and their daughter. We see a craigslist add with them wanting to give her away or they were going to surrender her to the pound. WTH? ... they come to our farm and could not give a reason other than basically she is in the way and getting older. I shook my head, took the leash and walked off with Ginger. Left my wife with them in the front yard.

Do you know what it is? My dog is 14 lbs, and as best as we can guess she is a poodle and some kind of terrier.

Got her when she was about 7-10 months old.

Just talked with her and she doesn't know. She adopted it also. Believe it or not, she did say she thought it was a poodle/terrier mix also, but very unsure.

Does Buck have a collection of jackets and sweaters and brings you the one he wants to put on for the day like sparkles dog does?

He does have several
He doesn't wear them everyday but will bring that one to me to put on him every now and then.

My wife got our dog a jacket. I thought he would hate it, but he brings it to me when it gets really cold.
