Doesnt This Beg The Question

We've seen this some with past players. Aaron Sears played every position on the O-line.

Though I think that, in the past, these adjustments were made more to compensate for injuries than to expose mismatches.

Standard thinking is you put your best tackle on your QBs blind side and leave him there. If the tackles are even or close to even talent wise, then I don't see it makes any difference swapping them around.

Agreed 100%.

The talent level among the OL is pretty even. Jacque and Vlad are mauler types at guard and Scott and Foster are both big long athletic types at tackle. McNeil is the best center in the SEC (even though he isn't practicing right now) Parker has done a good job filling in and he's pretty good himself.

Great post. If nothing else inspires optimism about the upcoming season, our o-line should give people hope. We have a great line that appears to be working as a unit very nicely.

This plus no huddle shouldn't cause you guys any problems at all with delay of game.

then why were we so pathetic at run blocking last year?

I'm not sure how much if any no huddle we will run this year.

I am predicting .... zero. New QB, new OC.... not conducive to it. But I remember how pumped people were about it last spring so I thought I'd give you a little memory boost on it.

if there is any justice in this world, we'll beat Florida this year.

I don't think we were quite as bad running the ball as Cutcliffe made us appear.

This group now has the seasoning. They should be a real force. That's what has made spring frustrating for me, they weren't showing it. This article gives me legitimate reasons why. August practices and the return of a talented center should bring the unit into form. I'm encouraged now, where I was honestly worried before.

Rex, You do realize that according to your own numbers UT was 4th in the SEC in YPC, right? Only Arkansas did significantly better.
