Does UT really need a defensive minded head coach?

We need Defense more if we are going to catch up in the SEC. In a span of two years, Georgia was able to take the next step by emphasizing an improvement on defense. They have weapons on offense, but don't put pressure on them because they have a strong Defense that gets plenty of turnovers.

Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, and even Flordia in the past, were all able to win their respective divisions by leaning on their defense.

A couple of other factors:

SEC teams have a grueling schedule and get banged up as the year goes on. Injuries to a QB, star RB, or WR can completely defuse an offense. Defenses, especially in college, seem to be more about scheme, than one individual player.

Also, playing in 100,000+ stadiums is an advantage for defenses and can actually put more pressure on a struggling offense.

Back when copy was clean and (mostly) error free, it was because newsrooms were well staffed.

These days the average newsroom has only a handful of copy desk staffers who wear about four hats each shift. Gone are the days of dedicated proofreaders, and you won't find a group more stressed/distressed about that than the few overworked and underpaid souls left to do the work that ten times the staff used to do.

Please try to keep that in mind when you see typos and mispellings. If administrators had taken better care of the business instead of looking out for their own interests only, they wouldn't have had to let go of so many good, talented and dedicated copy desk people.

They're doing the best they can.

We could do a lot worse than Jeremy Pruitt. Coordinators get head coaching gigs all the time...historically and recently. Word is he was/is a big part of the recruiting muscle at Bama.

Good coach..obviously.

We need a great recruiter...and by all accounts he is a real good one. Used to walking off the field a winner in the SEC.

You hear all these coaches being "scared" of the UT fanbase blahblahblah....what a bunch of wussies. Do we want 'em anyway? And it'd be nice if we got one that wasn't scared of anything. One guy that wouldn't be "scared" is Kiffin actually. He's got the swagger that he doesn't give a crap. BUT...Fulmer hates him so forget it. Leach? Fulmer doesn't like him either. We're gonna do this Fulmer's way so we can just hope he gets someone like Pruitt. A top coordinator with a ton of success and good recruiter by all accounts.

So the TN offense ranked 124 out of 129 FBS teams and they feel the need to look for a defensive minded head coach?
