Does Tillman Return next year?

Big day from Tillman yesterday. But dang, does having one good game in your entire career immediately qualify you for early entry into the NFL Draft. I mean look at Marquez North or DaRick Rogers from UT alone. These guys were big time athletes that put up long term #s with 1st team All-SEC pedigree and didn't really make it. I'm thinking folks may want to slow their roll a little on this.

It's not a crazy question, Tillman has 46 receptions for 726 yards and 6 TDs (with 3 games left). Josh Palmer was drafted in the 3rd round last year...

DaRick was also kicked off the team and Marquez North caught all of 5 TDs during his career at UT. Never even put up a 500 yard season..

Rumors of this all season, seems he has been frustrated by lack of significant involvement in the Offense. Coming out of spring many thought he would be the top guy in this unit. That has not been the case
No loyalty anymore

Many thought he needed to gain some strength and learn to run his routes better. He has great speed and if he gets open and catches the ball, he will play. Remember, he was a QB in high school.

We don't have a clear cut NFL prospect outside of Cade Mays and he won't go early. He'll come back, because a few good games aren't enough of a sample size..

Taylor... He is all over draft boards from what I have seen. I've seen as high as 2nd and as low as 6th round.

Reality is, most Pro Athletes, especially football, have a short shelf life. Son played HS, having to sit out one year when we found out his chronic pain was from hairline back fractures suffered in weight training. He was a good HS player, though not college level. And especially not SEC level. The game is hard on one's body. He remarked leaving the game Saturday, that he's glad he's not having to do that anymore. Didn't think his body could handle it. So, if these guys get a chance to go make their money while they are healthy, then good on them. Go for it.

Just a guess but I don't think his projection will be high enough for him to leave. One more year in this O and he could be a first day pick.

Meh, dumb take imo. If you can go high in draft and make money you do so, especially at WR. On Hyatt I absolutely agree, haven’t heard the rumors though so I’m just going to hope the kid gets it figured out and comes back.

Hyatt is who I was referring to. I don't blame anyone that can go high in the draft for leaving.

His and most any WR's draft stock can more accurately be measured by their raw numbers. Great 40 time and big vertical. Someone will take a shot on you even if you didn't have super numbers in college. Bad measurables by NFL standards, your stock will fall significantly regardless of college numbers.

I think his speed would hurt him in the combine but he runs very good routes and he high points the ball as good as anyone I've seen, he's a dream receiver for a QB that throws a lot of 50/50 balls. His improvement this year is just plain amazing.

I think he could be a top 4 rounds pick if he can get his 40 time at 4.5 consistently. I have seen that as his low but that he also ran a 4.65. Palmer got drafted in the 3rd round with a 4.5, even though he's shorter than Tillman and struggled to put up big numbers. He got boosted by a good showing in 1v1 work at the Senior Bowl. PFF gave him a top 10 WR grade and several, including USA Today and Kiper didn't have him getting drafted. He was WR 11.

He could prep for the NFL combine at a reputable venue and get his time down. If I was in that situation I would get my simulated numbers @ a reputable venue and research before leaving. Another year with Hooker could be dynamic and vault his numbers.

Hyatt transferring would make no sense for him. There's no one this offense suits better than him and Payton and Velus Jones are both gone after this; possibly Tillman, too. Hyatt will be either #1 or #2 receiver next year. And he's probably not getting better NIL money elsewhere than he would here.

Regarding Hyatt. One of my favorite players. He is not better (yet) than Payton Jones or Tillman. That may change and another year in this offense… he will start and do well next year. His time will come and he knows it. (JMHO)

Nail on the head here. Many of our fans just lack the understanding of the difference between college and the NFL

He also had 150 yards vs Alabama. So that’s actually 2 good games against some of the best DBs in the country. NFL scouts will take notice.

He compares favorably to Jennings. Maybe faster. But yes, another year would be good. The problem is whether that’ll be here or at another school. Hooker returning would help ensure Tillman returns.

If anyone that is leaving early that should leave early... it's Tillman.

Scouts will see his monstrous games against UGA and Bama and tune in. 17/352/2 is a hell of a statline.

Especially if he runs somewhere in the 4.4s at the Combine, he could easily go 2-3 or even 1st. He's got the size and looks to have the speed too combined with verifiable production against good competition.

While I tentatively agree, Tillman isn't just having good games.

He comes off the line well. At 6'3/215 he's hard for a CB to jam. He looks to have excellent speed in acceleration and at top-end. He hasn't dropped many balls that I've seen and he high points them.

Basically.... his tape from the last 4 games are exactly what NFL scouts will be looking at and looking for.

Oh, and his blocking has been excellent.
