Does the first game set our expectations for 2007-08

I only see it as a precursor of things to come if Tenn loses. I dont care how the ratings or point spread sees things, Vols should be a huge favorite here. They have a better recruit class, play well on the road, and have the psychological advantage of last years domination.

To me, it's an expected, although not automatic, win for them. If they win, it will only prove to most that Cal was never all that anyways, and high praise will be witheld for when/if they take out an SEC heavyweight. This is a situation that where Cal would get props for beating UT, but UT wont get jack for beating Cal.

The game that will set our expectations is the Florida game. After that we'll probably adjust them after Georgia, and again after Arkansas. So many games we can lose this year, a 10 win season seems improbable...

It is a daunting season for you guys. Risking injury to key players in the Cal game, which is essentially meaningless to your grander schemes seems foolish.

great points

I expect South Carolina to be a closer game than Cal. If you ask me Cal is one of the easier games on the schedule.

Hmm, how was the O ST. game for you? Tough one man, ouch, forgot about UCLA. Too bad we beat both of those teams and destroyed O St. Yet your team couldn't beat them. Awe, does it hurt? Does it hurt? :lolabove:

Winning all the games before we play Florida and then beating FDlorida determines the season, we can then run the table !
