Can’t hire 10th assistant until next week. Is that why we don’t have the strength and condition coach yet? Or does that coach not count as part of the 10 coaches Pruitt can have on staff?

Coaching Activities
11.7.1.1.1 Countable Coach.
An athletics department staff member must count against coaching limits as soon as the individual participates (in any manner) in the coaching of the intercollegiate team in practice, games or organized activities directly related to that sport, including any organized staff activity directly related to the sport.
11.7.1.1.1.1 Non coaching Activities.
Institutional staff members involved in non coaching activities (e.g., administrative assistants, academic counselors) do not count in the institution's coaching limitations, provided such individuals are not identified as coaches, do not engage in any on- or off-field coaching activities (e.g., attending meetings involving coaching activities, analyzing videotape or film involving the institution's or an opponent's team), and are not involved in any off-campus recruitment of prospective student-athletes or scouting of opponents. A noncoaching staff member with sport-specific responsibilities may not participate with or observe student-athletes in the staff member's sport who are engaged in non organized voluntary athletically related activities (e.g., pick-up games). (Adopted: 1/16/93; Revised: 1/10/95, 12/13/05, 4/27/06 effective 8/1/06)
11.7.2.1.1 Weight or Strength Coach.
A weight (strength and conditioning) coach may conduct flexibility, warm-up and physical conditioning activities prior to any game and prior to or during any practice or other organized activities without being included in the limitations on number of coaches.

Thanks for taking the time to get that information for me.

I think the reason we don't have a S/C coach yet, is because he will be one of Alabama's S/C coaches that's under Scott Cochran. One of his coaches.

The S&C coach doesn’t count towards the 10. That’s for on-field coaches.

K... makes you really wonder why the coach hasn't been announced yet.(Apparently he has already been hired) Guess we shall see!

Don’t know how much stock to put into rumors that the new guy’s team is still playing, but it’s a pretty important hire to be putting off for any other reason.

My guess is some hires are pending the finish of the CFPCG.

Scott Cochran would qualify here.

So would Sam Pittman! ....Hey a fellow can dream can't he?

You don't want to know about Propst and his past, both on and off he field. He would be the worst hire in the history of Tennessee football.

I saw the E60 thing about his adulterous scandal. But I don't get the on field complaints. Seems like he has successfully led and built programs to sustained success in two states. Did I miss something? Not like you to jump up on a stump, Vonore.

Anybody know about Rush Propst?

Pruitt will hire a high school coach, and groom them as an analyst per se. Like Saban did with him years back. Think he was called a Director of Player Development.

I don’t know how that may or may not effect the 10 number that’s allowed.

Sounds like George Quarles to me!
