We know that BB was LK's #1,, but now that he's gone, does TP get his shot? Truth be told, I thought he kind of got shafted last year.

Yeah, Brown was clearly Kiffin's #1, since Hardesty got 80% of the meaningful carries last year...

After watching him at the Orange and white. I think he should have gotten more reps. Who knows? Maybe that was his best practice of the year.....

I think he'll get a shot. A new coach coming in has no promises to current players to have to uphold.

That said, I honestly believe that BB is the better back. Not to take anything away from Poole but I'm just very high on Brown.

I actually liked when we threw to him out of the slot last year. I could see him as a dangerous weapon in that aspect.

I really hope he gets to split time with BB. I think he could be solid for us next year and we really need a second (good) back.

Completely agree with Panthro. He has definite talent and needs to be on the field.

I think poole is a tougher runner than bryce.what makes me mad about bryce brown is he don't fight for the tough yards.the few times i have seen poole run he fights and grinds out the tough yards.

Based on limited PT last year, Poole looked better to me than Brown. That's not saying BB didn't do some good things, he did. But Poole ran with authority and showed great vision. I'm not sure about top end speed but Poole looked alot faster getting to and through the hole... and in recognizing when he could make one that wasn't quite there.

Talent wise, Brown would seem to have an edge. But Poole played against GA talent in HS vs KS talent for Brown. Poole has had an extra year of college level coaching.

Dooley seems like the kind of guy that would give Poole a legit shot.

For those of you who doubted that Kiffin would favor BB for recruiting purposes... what do you think now?

We have 4 rb's (assuming Williams recovers from his knee injury and comes back the way he was) that are deserving of playing time next year. I'm really looking forward to see how these guys develop over the off-season and who separates themselves from the rest.

I think he gets a shot, but i think BB will win the job, and Poole be second string and get a lot of carries...

Poole will have his chance, I don't think that Dooley and Chaney will start Brown just for the sake of starting a 5* player. We have a ton of talent in the backfield.

I would like to see Oku and Poole get some time at WR, get some time at RB and in the return game. Brown will more than likely be the guy who carries the load but it wouldn't surprise me if Oku, Poole and Williams and up taking 40-50% of the carries.

Does anyone know if we plan on using the zone blocking scheme we used last year?

He was fighting for carries, under Kiffin he was buried on the depth chart, I think Bryce learned a lot from Hardesty last year, seeing a senior give it his all on every carry should tell Bryce that nothing is going to be given to him in his time here at UT. Hope he takes full advantage of his chance to be the man.

Poole runs with purpose. He has a chip on his shoulder and you can see it when he gets the ball. Bryce needs to show something more or Poole should get the nod.

I'll go with the coaches but I've not seen enough meaningful carries from TP to know if he's better than BB. I dare say no one has

This is true, but Bryce had plenty of chances to impress, so by default, Poole has got a very good chance of starting...I'm not sure how much Brown's hip injury hampered him, hopefully they are all putting in the work to be great right now.

I think Tauren is a very good back--I kind of forgot about him until he had a few carries in the bowl game last year....and he ran pretty well despite the limited action he had due to Montario's performance.

Man every time Poole got tackled he would get up yelling at the tacklers or flexing like he was all that and a Jolly Rancher. That kinda stuff drives me crazy. Looks awful. I prefer a MH, BB, or DO who would get tackled, get up, and walk back to the huddle. I think Classy CDD would too.

I'll take Bryce any day of the week. He's a bruiser with elite speed. Plus, the more Bryce is on the field, the more I don't have to hear our P.A. announcer mispronounce Tauren's first name.

Bryce does not have elite speed, he has average to above average speed for a RB.

On top of that, I've heard Brown's work ethic is exemplary. With someone of his talent and work ethic, I don't see anyone beating him out. He had about 500 yards last year getting about 1/4 of the carries.
