I have seen more 5 stars this year than ever.. Is camp circuit, pay for star or spot in rankings? Services all over the place on ratings. I think tweets and relikes or whatever it is. SOCIAL MEDIa is worse for those kids than anything.. Also money management. DODGE has pros selling them something they should not have. You never drove anything. Hemi anysize now is too much young guys. Ask Georgia

I feel like these are multiple random thoughts missing punctuation and cohesiveness. But in an attempt to agree/comprehend i agree:

Social media and pay 4 play seem to be creating SOME narcissistic players who only care about self vs team and think they're more important than they really are. (Granted i work with 50-60 year old men/women who've moved up in a career and think the same.)

Star ratings seem to be an educated guess by sports writers who've never played the sport.

No idea what Dodge and hemi mean.

1. Does the star ranking system reward camp attendees maybe beyond their true worth?
2. Social media is contributing to some of these guys inflated egos, which in the long run is detrimental to their emotional development.
3. Apparently, Dodge has commercials using pro athletes (haven't personally seen one) targeting and influencing young athletes, and the traffic issues among UGA players are somehow tied to these commercials. A cautionary warning, I'm thinking.

I don’t get why people are dicks to people that can’t type or use punctuation just perfect. They are still fans and asking questions the best way they know how. Everyone damn near knows that they are asking.

Yes going to camp helps with being recognized and getting stars. A kid from my area will not have anything without paying for these camps. Doesn’t equate to 5 star or even 4 but some go unnoticed period.

These kids getting cars and all that doesn’t help. The money management or lack there of shows the maturity level and no one helping the kids. I don’t blame the kids, I blame agents, parents and even coaches.

Sorry to double post but I know a kid (38) that has a disease and he can barely write a sentence but he can put duel about anyone on this site regarding college football. He can tell you who was the MVP of the 19473958479 Alamo Bowl. Be nice to people

Ok, wish me luck in deciphering..

1. Some rating agencies look at offer lists and NBA interest when assigning stars. Some look at HS. Some look only at camps. Just different perspectives.

2. Kids doing dumb things with money is nothing new. I did dumb things when I was 17. Thankfully I didnt broadcast it for the world to see on social media...

Basketball rankings couldn't mean less to me tbh. Only sport where players can leave after one year to go pro so entire point of the "college recruiting rankings" is projecting them for the NBA and what they could be in like 5 years. With that being said, the higher rankings go to wings with a ton of length or a player at a big program (or both) the large majority of the time. Plus basketball is the most positionless sport of any major sport, so I would care more about team fit than anything. Those 5 star guys go after one year regardless bc the NBA will draft them off length and traits. I also imagine it would be a pretty small staff for basketball recruiting on sites bc to be frank there's not much motion in hoops recruiting throughout the year
