We don't play Ole Miss for another 6 years or so. But thanks for caring.

Oh and they lowly Rebels were ranked #15 in the final USAToday Poll and #14 in the final AP Poll.

Oh and since you play the Rebs on Nov. 14th, YOU better watch out for them. They will probably start the year ranked in the top 15 and could still be by the time they play the Vols.

I don't buy this. So Florida is going to be mad. It's not like we won't be ready for them or won't be mad ourselves.

We return a pretty talented defense. I don't think we are going to win this game, but I certainly doubt there will be triple digit scoring.

September will be awesome. I love it that Kiffin is adding fuel to the fire! Spark something up between these two teams please. I love this rivalry. I mean, I think Kiffin is an idiot, but I'm glad he is doing something for the rivalry. Vol or not, you gotta hand it to Kiffin for having some balls. It remains to be seen whether he can back it up or not.

See, THIS is the type of reaction Florida fans should be having. We've finally got some fire back in this rivalry. And getting fire in a rivalry where the winning team has beaten us the last 4 years, the last two by a combined score of 89-26, is impressive.

It's just football. YAW YAW!

I don't know this but I am not the coach at Tennessee making wild promises and somewhat deranged allegations and I don't have to back it up either. Lane does.

Because you wish for your coaching staff to be as good or better than ours does not make them so ... Consistently winning on the field with lesser talent does.

Since you currently admit having lesser talent than most in the SEC, why don't you show us how great those highly-paid UT coaches are?

That's all I am saying. Nothing more, nothing less.

I was actually looking forward to having a spirited rivalry with UT again.

Your coach took it to another level all together. But at the end of the day, it's still just a game ...

I would not do it myself because it's only a matter of time before UT finds its way to another successful season and karma has a way of biting you in the rear end.

Something Kiffin might want to remember the next time he wants to play all macho for the fans... Last time I checked, UT has to play every member of the SEC East and Bama every year. Careful what you wish for coach.

As for the delusional UT fans on this board: cheering for one's team is one thing. Drinking the Kool-Aid and jumping off a cliff like a bunch of lemmings in quite another.

Triple Digits? What an absolutely idiotic statement. UF would not ever even come close to putting triple digits up on UT's defense, and you know it. I dont care if Kiffin banged Urbans wife, no amount of "revenge" factor would ever make that happen. I dont agree with what Lane said either, in anyway. He should have known the rule before he opened his mouth publicly about it, no doubt. But, I am ECSTATIC to have a coach that will fire back and tell it like it is now. In case you gator fans havent noticed, your coach is Urban Meyer....widely considered one of the biggest a-hole coaches in the sport. Lane is "writing checks" his team cant handle....he never said he would beat UF, but you guys better not expect it to be an easy game next year, that I can guarantee.

I think the triple digit comment was a stretch. Check it out...A quote from Monte Kiffin about University of Florida, which is pretty cool, which is printed in the UF Media Guide. "I walk in the door and there's Coach Meyer and he's got the coffee pot going. The whole staff is organized from the get-go to the end of drills. It starts with the staff. That's why they won the National Title here. It starts with the coaching staff and moves all the way down through. This is the first time I have ever been to this stadium. Since when have you guys consistently won with lesser talent? I guess your coaches haven't proven anything either then. I doubt you'd find many NFL teams who would rather have UF's staff than UT's.

Meyer may not be liked in the biz but he knows we have to play our rivals each year so we actually take out our starters when the score gets ugly. Maybe not with UT this year though.

As far as trying to run up the score, he did it 2 years ago without cause. This means nothing to that.

I never said ours were more talented than the incoming staff at UT. We won with better athletes and good coaching.

That's why I wouldn't want to piss off UT, UGA or FSU. Things have a way of coming back on you when you do.

This is not the NFL. College coaches sometimes can make in impact in the NFL, sometimes they don't. Same for NFL coaches in college.

Ws and Ls are the ultimate arbiters of which staff is better. The rest is just posturing ...

Anybody who doesn't see that is a fool. Can you at least agree that these complaints coming from your fanbase are a little ridiculous? Spurrier was universally loved by Gator fans for taking shots at his home state and his childhood team. But somehow Kiffin is a d*ck for making Urban look bad.

Exactly. Our coaching staff has yet to play a game, has yet to play UF and held their own in recruiting against national powers who had been in place for at least 2 years. You said that we were writing "checks our team can't cash" but have nothing to back it up with. So far, our coaching staff is 0-0 against the Gators on the field. We are 2-1 in recruiting with us losing Herbert to you. How are you so sure that we can't "cash these checks"?

I think honestly that at this point both fanbases are getting a little carried away with this story. Kiffin made some remarks and was simply mistaken about the rule violation aspect of it. He was in an environment where he knows people are just dying to see some fire and brimstone and he gave it to them. He was off-base, but he's young and has no doubt learned a valuable lesson about making such public accusations.

On the flip side, there is no question but that this has electrified the UT fanbase and given them something to rally around. When Spurrier said things, I admit to a conflicted reaction. Part of me winced when I knew he'd gone too far (which was fairly often), but part of me admired his willingness not to engage in the trite sayings of one game at a time, or work like heck, etc.

Its fun. Hey, we're talking football today, February 6, as though we were at the end of August.

Getting 2 recruits from us hurts our pride and stings a little. But I will gladly trade 2 recruits to UT every year for a win ...

Talk is cheap ... Bring your boys down to Gainesville and see what all that talk earned you ...

If you've been watching the best team in Florida over the past decade, I don't think Monte has anything to prove to anyone who knows anything about football.
