Does Jerry Colquitt have something against Tyler Bray

We know who it is and what it is. The question is, why do you as a Vol fan have a picture of one of our players getting steamrolled as your avi?

He didn't get steamrolled. He just dove and missed...badly.

It is funny because it is Mister Superman...Rod Wilks! When you get beat 49-7, you got to laugh. Sorry.

Ok, I got this thing against Smyrna

Shaggy hair + laid back personality + from California = Drug addicted hell raiser

If you can't put these variables together and automatically come to the conclusion that Tyler Bray is wasting his life on drugs and booze, then you are just ignorant. I don't usually jump to conclusions, but when I do, I prefer to do it using baseless stereotypes of various cultures and norms.

Do they suspend them for pot use? I thought all that was handled behind closed doors. We, the general public, don't hear anything about it until they are dismissed.

Isn't the UT policy that you get booted on the fourth positive test? I may be wrong.

You are correct and also don't be surprised if you start hearing more rumblings about him failing DT's.

And where do you get these odds from?

I was a college kid 3 years ago. It's tough, and I imagine that it's tougher for Bray. Everybody on that campus wants to be Tyler's friend and everybody wants him to think they are cool. Unfortunately, some people use weed offerings to get it done. Now factor in the fact that Bray is from California. Those people that offer weed in exchange for friendship probably think that since Bray is from California that he is more likely to smoke, so they probably feel more comfortable asking him because of that.

That's not say that Bray hasn't, doesn't, or won't say no when he's offered but I can almost guarantee you that he has been offered and when you're young and new in town it's tough to say no but it can be done and a lot of people have overcome the tempation.

So all popular college athletes from California are probably smoking pot. Interesting.

Jerry is a loser and shouldn't be running his mouth. I'm from Oak Ridge (his home town) and I never heard him speak before he decided to bash Dooley for burning Worely's redshirt. (by the way, what does Jerry know about playing QB?) He's just another idiot that is trying to get some work and make money by running his mouth about UT. FU Jerry!

Jerry knows a lot about sitting on the bench. In fact, that's all he knows! Cry some more Jerry!

You do know that nobody on here thinks Wilks is really Superman right? It also has nothing to do with feelings against Smyrna. It is just a joke because a former poster from Smyrna really pumped Wilks up in a over the top way when he was a recruit. Nobody wants, or thinks it's funny to see him fail. But whatever makes you chuckle I guess. :hi: Edited...I'm sorry I misread your post. You have a personal thing against Smyrna, and by extension Wilks.

Ding ding ding!!! That nails it exactly.

Sean Penn in 'Fast Times at Ridgemont High' implanted that sterotype on most of us Tennessee boys of a certain age range. If you fit that description, then you got to be going green

I told you guys. The kid has to wake up. You can fail two or three drug tests before you are suspended and I believe firmly that tyler has one strike left. I would be quick to discount this except for the fact that I have seen him doing it at a party once and some of my friends who don't even watch football have said he is at their friends apartment smoking all the time. The kid needs to get his head on straight and wake up. Drink a beer or something geez.

I didn't say he probably is. I said he probably has.

Here is a link to a study on marijuana usage among college students. The study indicates that 24% of college students have smoked in the past year and that number was as high as 54% at some colleges.. That's just in the past year.

College characteristics indicating marijuana use suggest that use was higher among students at non-commuter colleges. Student characteristics associated with marijuana use included being single, white, and spending more time at parties and socializing with friends.

I think Jerry is just a bitter middle aged jerk that is mad because he waited 5 years to be the QB, and fate took a dump on him. I used to feel really bad for him, now he moves way up my despised list every time he says something.

Actually, I do carry a slight grudge against Smyrna. Before I-24, those of us in southern middle Tennessee had to take the old 41 highway to go shopping in Nashville. Smyrna was a one red-light town on the route that was a huge speed trap. They issued tickets out the ying-yang. This was in the mid-late '60s. Way before Nissan arrived. My mom trained me to keep my eyes open in Smyrna.

I want to see Rod do well also. He is ok by me. Actually, I feel sorry for him because he is a man without a position. I was thrilled when he picked up the fumble against Vandy.

Yes, I know he is not Superman.

I did not say that but I would say that there is better than a 50% chance that Bray has smoked weed at some point.

My brother-in-law is a student right now, and he told me several times about seeing Bray out at parties last year. Said that he was blatantly irresponsible while in public, and wasn't grasping that everyone was watching him. Read between those lines so I don't have to spell it out.
He even said that Dooley personally showed up at a party one night to physically drag TB out of there to take him home.
The good news is that this was all early last season, and he's said that he hasn't heard or seen from Bray since then. Said that he's even heard that TB just "got it" one day, and has been more focuses since.

Please note that I have never posted a rumor like this before. I'm just passing along what my brother-in-law told me, and for what it's worth, I'm certain that he wouldn't just make up something like this.

I have heard that Bray has a girl friend that might be getting him in a little trouble. I also heard her name was Mary Jane. Maybe these are the off the field problems OP is talking about.

Heard from where?

That says a lot about Dooley is true. Maybe he really does treat these kids as if they are his own.

He does, but he knows where to draw the line. He always spoke about Janzen's problems publicly. I'm pretty sure he would mention Bray's if there was one.

Makes me like Coach Dooley even more.

I just want to point out that whether Tyler has or hasn't smoked weed, it doesn't make him any better or worse as a person. We all live in a world of sin and EVERYONE makes mistakes. Let's not act like we don't all have flaws of our own. I haven't seen anyone publicly judging him in this thread and that's good but I just wanted to point that out for anyone that may be reading this and forming some kind of unsubstantial opinion about Tyler or anyone for that matter.

That Colquit stuff on Basilio's site is straight garbage. If Colquit thinks there is going to be any QB controversy whatsoever, he is a grade A moron. Bray needs to improve just like any other player does, but making up nonsense insinuating off-the-field issues is horse ****. Haters gonna hate. I hope a true VFL punches that guy in the mouth.
