Anyone get the feeling that after this hire we here of Dave Hart stepping down? In my opinion know matter who he hires the fan base will hate him and all the blame will be on him which it mostly should be on him. I'm betting he steps down or is fired after whoever is hired gets his full staff together.

The fanbase knows one thing, the money was appropriated to make a big hire. If he does not pursue other so called "Homerun Hires" (varies who that is) he will be run out of town .

No. He tried. He failed at Gruden. No one, and that also includes people on here know what was or was not offered. Everyone goes off a writers source or a cousins source. Hart will be the ad....life will go on.....and no lynch mob is needed. Its football kids.....guys say yes and no to jobs everyday.

I have all the confidence that this hire will continue the course of mediocrity. bama dave is not going to get a top notch coach but continue along the low grade dooley quality of coach. I really don't think he gives a damn whether UT gets a decent (yes now expectations are down to this) coach or not. Anybody who thinks hart is truly concerned about the future success of UT is fooling themselves.

I just see him stepping down with the pressure and the negativity surrounding everything about this program.

A competent AD would have been able to sell his Product for the Right price to a Big Name. He wouldn't have to go to the B or C list if Money truly isn't an issue...if he were Competent.

I wouldn't fire him now. He needs to get his chance like Dooley did. However, I would say that Hart has had since last year's Kentucky game to put a plan together. As of today, it isn't looking like it is coming together, but time will tell.

The man hasn't even hired anybody yet and you are wanting him to step down???...WTF is wrong with you people???....Why don't you wait and see who the hell he gets first before forming a lynch mob...This is getting ridiculous.

It blow's my mind that the vol's i love have fan's with such little simple understanding. Just because $ may not be an issue for ut, does not mean gruden or anyone will jump for it. Maybe, just maybe they like where they are more than the thought of coming to ut?? Maybe some other big name would have come until they seen how obsessed our fan's were over wanting gruden only. There was never any proof gruden wanted this job, only fan rumor's which got picked up by no nothing twitter people that made some of u take for gospel. The only for sure thing that come out about gruden was he wasn't interested, and because HE don't want it, you all blame hart?? Didn't get your way, take your ball and go home. I'd rather have fulmer for AD, but i'm not gonna blame hart for gruden saying no.

Love the lynch mob mentality we have going here at Volnation... It was never Gruden or bust..

Keep in mind that even if boosters want him gone UT is facing multiple lawsuits related to the merger of the women's and men's ADs and Hart is a central figure in all of them.

Good God, man! Did he say he wanted anything to happen? He's asking a question. Secondly, and EVERYONE seems to ignore this part of jbeadrd's question, he also asked about the chances of Dave Hart stepping down on his own. The OP here did not, at least in his original post, state that it was his opinion that Dave Hart should be fired.

no, unless the hire is so weak they fire him sooner rather than later. If he makes a good hire like Fisher or Gundy he'll get 3 more years. Stong is not a weak hire but not a homerun. I really think they have hired Strong. More the level we can expect with the state of the program. Gundy and Fisher seems to be just smoke. Reading there back ground and current status they seem stable at current job.

What does the state of the program have to do with it in your opinion? Wasn't the Alabama program in a similar state as ours when Nick Saban was hired?

Yes and the reason we will hate him is Hart will surely hire another loser and we will continue to be losers. The big fish got away and now we will settle for a carp that they will glorify and make seem like we hit a home run when in reality we swung and missed not even a single. We are striking out again. This crap has gotton old

Yes it was and they unbuckled gave money to hire Saban. We are looking at Golden and Strong. Hardly s competitor with Saban!

There's a lot of talk, but no action. Dave is okay with that. If the fans were to sack up and march on campus demanding a big name and he failed, maybe. But to believe message board posters talking garbage behind the mask of anonymity will be a serious threat to his position is laughable at best.

why would he? he doesn't work for the fans, isn't in charge of fan entertainment. he is in charge of running athletics and putting out a product that the fans will pay to see, which is different than being in charge of entertaining fans.

can we get a few more delusional threads that basically say the same thing just in a different way as the other 100+ today?
