Nope. He can safely go back to tweeting soccer and tennis stuff without being watched like a hawk.

Maybe the fact he is 9-3 at Washington State and was one game away from being in PAC 12 Championship game and also the fact he took a absolute garbage program in Washington state to new levels after taking a Texas tech school that was even worse to a 11-2 season

And, then each of those teams gets their asses handed to them is ridiculous fashion, 65-21 by Oklahoma in 2008 and Arizona 58-37 this year. I don't see why anyone thinks he can win big game on a regular basis or a title.

He should be fired but he won’t. The hire will be considered good enough and folks will not have the stomach to pay his buyout. The HOH will remain intact. Many have already jumped on the pirate ship but I’m not sold on the hire.

Of course.

Imo he does.

I hate Currie until he announces Leach then at that point I start calling Currie a 12D chess genius, who smokescreened and expectation managed a fanbase to give them exactly the coach the program needs.

He's my Gruden.

Except Leach is a PROVEN recent coach with a truly infallible offensive system.

So better than Gruden. If Gruden looked like Leach none of these hebephrenic jokers would want him.

The gruden threads would never have existed. Gruden is style over substance.

No. They may try to keep him to see if the storm settles but he will never be effective in his job again and will eventually have to let him go. Every decision he makes will be questioned now by his staff, his bosses, the fans, and his coaches. He will have ZERO respect from other AD's,administrators, sec officials, other conference officials, and ncaa officials. Every tweet, every game he attends, etc he will get hounded by TN on some level. Currie blindly followed Haslam just like Hamilton and it will get him fired just like it did Hamilton.

Doesn't matter. Because of his buyout, he's not going anywhere unless a blatant for-cause issue arises that Davenport and Haslam can't cover.

Has to be able to do his job. After this it's not possible. He has lost the trust Nd faith of everyone around him

He went through at least 8 before going after a guy who should have been a top 3.
The bungled mess can't be fixed by this.

I feel like we are scrambling around to find someone who will talk to us

By biggest question is why can’t we talk to multiple people at the same time and gauge interest from both sides before entering negotiations.

For example while Currie is out west talk to Tee talk to Peterson etc.

Prolly yes, but should not.

You don't run a $100MM organization like this.

Either way, still no athletic donations for me.

I am very curious if Currie will announce the new coach at the press conference or have someone else do it, like would he actually show up to a room full of Vols people knowing where he was
