If CLK is looking for size and speed he may not need to look any further then current Vol Forward Emmanuel Negedu. The Nigerian phenom stands 6'6" run a 4.3 40 and is the strongest player in the weight room for the BB Vols. Negedu grew up playing soccer so he has the footwork to play receiver, the unknown is can he catch and would he try out for the team. One thing is for sure is size and speed would be a difficult matchup for any defense.

Thoughts anyone?

I saw him up close a while back, prototype DE.
Dude is a beast.

Cincinnati used to have a player named Erik Hicks I wandered this about as well. I thought he would have made a beast DE or TE

Didn't Antonio Gates do this??? I know he only played like one year of college ball, but was he playing basketball or something else? IMO it would be difficult to talk a kid into playing football and risking a shot at the NBA via injuries. He's got a bright future on the hard wood.

Yes... Basketball...he was a Kent State Golden Flash. I believe they made it to the sweet 16 his senior year.

I thought so. Negadu could do damage on the gridiron though, IMO. If we're going for a TE though, I'd love to have Phillip Lutzenkirchen??? or however you spell it.

Lutzenkirchen looks like a future stud. I'd be ecstatic if we could nail him, but we'd have a ton of TE's with Stocker/Cottam/Douglas as well.

No..Warren just won't see the field in Kiffins offense. He's not big enough or physical enough to play TE. If anything, he'll probably end up playing some slot WR or something.

If that's the case, I really think he should consider moving to DE. He could be a star speed rusher.

I wouldn't mind seeing him do that. I thought he was a better DE than TE in high school and thats what Rivals had him projected as.

Tony Gonzalez did both at Cal I think. He turned out okay...
