...of an explanation? Does the fan base deserve more than "i'm not going to answer anything about the past or the coaching search"?

Despite appearing upset in the form of getting in front of the camera looking like she had been through a few cases of wine, a few bottles of anti-depressants and having added a few dozen cats to her brood, should she own some of this and answer some questions?

She may be a very well put together and educated chancellor, but in this particular arena she sounds like an idiot. I mean, zero public speaking skills. Painful to watch.

We need to take a few days and mend our self inflicted wounds. Just sleep well knowing the Big Fisherman is back.

She was pretty evasive and smug imo. Said the right things in general of course...but I love how she squirmed when asked why didn't she let Currie hire "one of the best coaches in the country". I don't like her smug face.

Looks like she's following good legal advice. Never take the chance of loading the opposition's guns for them.

This x100! And no - she doesn't "owe" you or us more.

Fine. Then we don't "owe" her supporting the program by filling Neyland Stadium...or supporting the program in any way. Works both ways. We WILL support the program but the people who have supported this program through lean years and going forward deserve some respect and appreciation....and that doesn't come through being smug and evasive and treated like we don't deserve to know what's going on. They said themselves it's a "team effort" including students, fans, athletes etc. If we really are part of the "team" then don't treat us as undeserving serfs here to serve and support them and their every whim.

They are looking to fire Currie for Cause. She legally can’t say something right now.

Could she have provided more, most likely.
As far as does she 'owe' us more...probably not.

As a guy who has been in a similar situation (deposed in a court of law for a massive civil suit...same as court of public opinion) She looked like she just got hammered by the lawyers about 'say this and this and this...DO NOT say anything about this, this, or that !!!"

She's in way over her head. Was impressed with what Fulmer said though.

Davenport just got a whopping meat loaf and potatoes dose of UT's football passion. I honestly don't think she understood, or cared. The voices of the students, fans, alumni and boosters painted her into a corner and she ended up narrowing her decisions down to what happened. It was spiraling out of control and her actions saved her job (for the time being). At least she was smart enough to read the tea leaves.

When is enough enough? I mean they have succumbed to the pressure of firing him what else can she do? Everyone has been advocating for Fulmer as Ad thats what she did.

I didn't like the way she side-stepped 1st question concerning Leach. Currie was doing his job and doing good if he had Leach's interest. Just wtf is he supposed to do? This smells. Don't think for one second the players inside the UT administration can't set one person up to fail. Seems they are getting used to it too. Fulmer should go back and talk to both Brohm and Leach. Currie's mistake was allowing himself to be mislead by Haslam. Davenport didn't like it so it appears. There's way too much smoke now for any of us to see clearly as to what is actually taking place. Leach appeared to unify the fanbase and that's the kind of leadership UT needs more than anything else.

edit: FWIW...I heard Bev was turned off at leach's use of foul lanquage. This is really picking at straws if true. Now is our next hire expected to walk on pins and needles while expected to coach a football team.

I agee 100%. She seemed like somebody who just got a major education in what Tennessee football/Athletics is all about. She learned you can’t bring some punk corporate goob in here and pull off the job. She learned Tennessee fans are passionate and we are not stupid recknecks that the educated elite can walk over. Hopefully she learned a very valuable lesson.

I could be in a room with her about 5 minutes before one of us would have to go. She just strikes me as an educated idiot who would quickly annoy me.
