Does CBJ still recruit for Cincy?

I remember when this fan base would make fun of the Kentucky and Vandy's of the world. For saying the same thing you all are saying now! 3* are nfl players he can coach them up to compete. Tennessee fans would laugh at that crap because we KNEW IT WASN'T TRUE!!!!!

Bama has 9 3 stars on the 2013 commit list, UF has 8, and LSU has 10, as well as a 2 star who is not a kicker (OL). And no UT fan used to laugh at Vandy and UK for getting 3 stars and saying they could be coached up, because up until very recently it was rare either of those schools were getting hardly any players rated higher than a 2 star. But Raqndall Cobb would be a good example of a player the recruiting services missed on badkly. And if you look at NFL rosters they are filled with 3 star players, and the 3 star from OH that CBJ offered to do has 4.4 speed, and right now this team desperately needs some speed.

What 4-5* you know that's bout to commit? Inform me o wise one.

What is with all this about to commit nonsense? Let the man bring in official visitors throughout the month of January, and then judge his class on NSD.

I guess OP has never looked at the definition of star ratings. 3* players are considered D1 prospects who will contribute. So if your base talent is D1, with the coaching you are supposed to receive, you should be able to be a good player for your team.

There is a reason why every team in the country signs between 7-12 three star players a year, they are usually the glue of your team. It's a solid base to have.

Ofcourse, nm the fact that Jones is targeting some major gets and they are still listening. Those players are not going to sign with the man after a week. Relationships have to be forged. Remember, they have offers from all over, its not as easy as NCAA13.

Very few people actually take the time to read what those stars mean and therefore post ignorant crap all over this board. I'm glad you took some time to read what the ratings mean.

You are aware that the guy has been on the job less than a week, right?

It will take time to rebuild the program. I hope he finishes strong but the chances are it won't be filled with a bunch of 4/5* recruits. He simply doesn't have time to develop those relationships and isn't selling snake oil like Kiffin.

Everyone was giddy over the 09 class that Kiffin finished so strong. Please go to Rivals.com before starting another stupid panic thread and looking at the players in that class. Ask yourself how many players from that "great" class actually made anything like a 4/5* contribution at UT. It ain't pretty.

The ranking system ranks prospects on a numerical scale from 6.1-4.9.

6.1 Franchise Player; considered one of the elite prospects in the country, generally among the nation's top 25 players overall; deemed to have excellent pro potential; high-major prospect

6.0-5.8 All-American Candidate; high-major prospect; considered one of the nation's top 300 prospects; deemed to have pro potential and ability to make an impact on college team

5.7-5.5 All-Region Selection; considered among the region's top prospects and among the top 750 or so prospects in the country; high-to-mid-major prospect; deemed to have pro potential and ability to make an impact on college team

5.4-5.0 Division I prospect; considered a mid-major prospect; deemed to have limited pro potential but definite Division I prospect; may be more of a role player

4.9 Sleeper; no Rivals.com expert knew much, if anything, about this player; a prospect that only a college coach really knew about

it would be very irresponsible on my part to recommend alcohol to someone obviously under the legal age limit

if you really want to know more about recruiting then feel free to stay and question/contribute. If not...

You realize the forum has actual quotes from recruits right? Not just unsubstatiated garbage like those Gruden rumors you must have been burned by.

35 year old Marine that has bleed for our right to act like idiots on message boards!

I am not questioning that you have assumed a right to act like an idiot on this message board.... but....

You actually bled in part to protect the property rights of Freak who owns this board. You exercise that "right" at his pleasure here.

Thanks for your service and you're doing a fine job on the latter part.

I think my main problem is I don't care about the program as much as some of y'all. Looking clearly at it. Not as a hardcore fan. I guess I'm demanding of greatness.

There's a difference between demanding greatness and being unrealistic about your expectations of what a HC in his job less than one week should be doing to attract prima donna HS football players who are being showered with love by every coach in the country.

In your "Marine" mind you can believe that you can low crawl from Seattle to China all you want... all that will get you is failure. I'm glad you think you can run through walls of bullets without getting hit... and even more glad that you have commanders who know that you can't.

Kind of a thing Marines do.

I've known lots of Marines. I work for an ex-Marine major. ALL of the good ones know it takes time and patience to recruit and train a force ready for greatness in battle.

Even the Marines weren't getting their best recruits right after the Vietnam withdrawal.

Jones may need a little time to get better recruits too.
