Does Boo have the “it” factor?

I don’t understand this. I’ve seen nothing that displays he doesn’t care. He’s amped whenever the defense makes a play.
He has kind of an aloof demeanor on the sidelines. In particular, after the second punt return Saturday, either Max Gilbert or Josh Turbyville came up to him from behind, slapped him on the back, leaned in to say something to him, and Boo didn't even look at him or say anything in response.

I know the reputations that punters and kickers can have on football teams, but still, he didn't even acknowledge him.

He is very talented, doesn't seem to love Tennessee. He could be a fan favorite if he would act right

On punt returns, Boo tries to make every player on the opposing team miss, sometimes twice. I'm amazed he gets as many yards as he does because while he's juking the guy in front of him, players who missed before have time to catch him.

The way he can stop and start on a dime is next level. His field awareness and instincts is what gives him that IT factor. You can't coach that. If he can get his s**t together he will be a college and NFL star. He has Top 10 NFL draft talent. We need him to go off this Sat.

The high stepping down the sideline with no blockers was absolutely hilarious.

Yup. Hard to imagine him not hitting the portal at the first opportunity. Gives me some comfort in knowing he's going to be auditioning for his next gig this year so maybe we get the best of Boo this year? Starting with UGA would be kinda nice.
Yep. ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT is t biggest play this young fellow needs to make.

Maybe . . . But a few punt returns against ETSU is not enough. Let’s see what he can do in big games.

In 2001, UT was much more talented than UGA. Richt outcoached Fulmer.

We were up 14-3 and in total control of the game. UGA ran back a punt and the whole trajectory of the game changed.

We could use a play like that on Saturday.

I agree… wasn’t it against the pups last year that he almost took one to the house? I seem to remember thinking about that last year, some guys can just turn it up a notch on the big stage and Saturday is a big one.

I think so. UGA is more talented (25 more 4/5 star players).

To win, UT needs turnovers, a special teams TD, or JA to play out of his mind. A game that goes on script ends in a loss due to the talent advantage they have.

I think Boo Carter has the “it” factor!

I’ve had the Big Orange fever now for over 35 years and I was thinking back through the years about smaller in stature guys who were electric with the ball in their hands. I know that he played for the bad guys but David Palmer was one of the first guys that came to my mind. Over the last 20 years or so I think in my opinion Percy Harvin has been the best in this regard, so every time we get a player that I get excited about I think, is this guy going to be the next Percy. Guys like Nu’Keese who didn’t pan out for whatever reason, then I thought about Pig Howard who was solid or Jimmy Calloway and Jimmy Holiday who transferred before we really got a good look. Then squirrel White who I was really high on was super quick but wasn’t that fast. I know that it isn’t fair to compare these guys to I believe one of the best in this category But I think that Boo is very close or at least the closest to that standard. What do you guys think? Who else comes to mind?

I know it’s hard to say that one guy is the best at something but in this area (obviously not a smaller guy) in my opinion I think that Cordarrelle Patterson is the most electric with the ball in his hands that I’ve EVER seen!
He's no Cordarelle. He's electric, has some wiggle, but he lacks the burst to break the long run IMO. CP didn't have much wiggle, but man could get out of situations I've never seen anyone get out of. Just think about the reverse he took to the house against Georgia. That was insane.

Sad, but he won't be able too. He hasn't learned from his off season mistakes he made. When a kid things he's bigger than the team or feels like the school better be glad he's there mentality, is a receipt for failure.

He’s Throwing away a lifetime of fan support & who knows what else. Thinking he’s a generational NFL guy is crazy IMO. Small safeties might play awhile but they don’t play long.
Agree, he doesn't know what he Could mean to Vol Nation.

You are going to see the 'IT' FACTOR when he has 150+ yards of receiving / 2 TDs, 1 pick, and 100+ return yards total for 1 TD this Saturday!!!

I agree, that’s my only unanswered concern is the burst to break the long run. Hopefully we’ll get an answer this Saturday! GBO!

He looked the part versus etsu. The punt return was nice. On a separate note did any one else notice he threw up the crips sign after he made a tackle right at the line of scrimmage in the 1st half?

He has the burst to take it to the house … close to breaking one anytime touches the ball . He could be the X factor Saturday . Special teams plays a critical role in huge games
