Does Barnes neuter his players? (Offense)

Imagine this board right now if we had actually lost. Jesus.
Teams that are truly elite know that the wins and losses ebb/flow — it’s what you discern/decide from both wins AND losses that impact your programs full potential.
as other posters have said… be happy that we won but not so happy with how we won…

He’s so much worse than Bruce Pearl, who does not neuter his player’s confidence at all. Auburn has a far advanced offense to Rick Barnes, due to him not neutering his players.

That Bruce Pearl offense looked so great today. They probably wouldn’t have made it to 40 points if he wasn’t such a great offensive coach.

I will tell you one thing about Bruce. He is the most dramatic coach in all of college basketball so it’s no surprise that he has a team full of drama queens and floppers at Auburn. They are utterly ridiculous.

Lets look at the amount of players CRB has neuter into the NBA compare to Oats and Pearl. I think those players would disagree with your statement.

In my experience when we lose, it’s because of one of two reasons

1. we miss a bunch of open shots (Has nothing to do with UT offense style.. just execution)

2. The other team has some lucky unconscious, hot streak, shooting that overcomes our usually stout defense

simple. No need for the drama

This forum can’t handle simple and thrives on drama. Bunch of whiny dip $hits in here.

I think it is true playing close defense and using a lot of energy, can cause a player to not shoot as well on offense end. Even the free throw percent was down.

I don't think I have ever seen a team shoot SO bad and WIN the game!

Barnes is demanding, sure guys are coached hard and likely have their offensive game reigned in a bit, on the flip side their defense and care taking of the ball is emphasized more than other places as well. Would Phillips be the #1 defensive player in the country if he plays for Nate Oats? Probably not.

I think he did wonders for Chandler and Bone. ON took 16 shots today, so it didn't seem like he was lacking confidence.
