Does Anyone Think the Vols Will Beat Arkansas?

i think we have every opportunity to beat every team except alabama and even with them it may not be a blowout. Florida has a new scheme and new coaches- we walk into the swamp and beat them IMO. Georgia- well they're georgia, get all the talent in the world and constantly under perform. USCe- in knoxville it becomes a completely different story than last year, still gonna be tough but it will be close. LSU- beat them last year, enough said.

The point is, these teams show up against the "top" teams but how many times have we seen these teams lose to teams they shouldnt?

arkansas is a dark horse team for the SEC title and BCS bowl game---that could be a long game for UT--not a good matchup.

They have the most balanced offense in the conference (and I honestly can't think of anyone terribly close, USC is probably next) and they should have strong defensive line play. I think we'll be able to take away either the passing game or the running game, but not both.

All depends on if the defense is worth a damn this year. Tennessee is going to have to find a way to not let teams run the ball down their throats, if not a few games this year could get ugly. Talent wise though these two teams aren't far apart.

Sure, they can beat Arkansas. Will they? Highly unlikely, but as always I will think they can win until its over.

I never go into a week thinking the Vols cannot win. I think we can beat anyone on any given week. "That's why we play the game".
Now will they? Well that remains to be seen but I believe we can!

No one that has ever watched a football game and has full use of their senses would favor Tennessee.

I am not sold on arky. I think wilson threw the ball well against NC Auburn, but I do not believe secondary is Auburns strong suit. I also noticed Auburn hung what 70 points on ark? Now the only reason I bring up auburn is because that is all anyone is basing their QB play for this year. That is my main arguement and could be way off in left field somewhere. However, I think we are inbetween SC and MSU on their schedule. I would guess depending on how successful MSU is, and how well SC plays them the week before, could really play in our favor. I think we have a legit shot at them. Funny 10 years ago this would of been considered a straight up W.

may have been the most talented overallTennessee team of all time, and we beat them like 13-3 out there..hard place to play..

The results weren't pretty the last time we went all the way to Fayettenam. I have very little confidence looking at this game on the schedule, probably less than any other, but it is still July. Many things can change by November.

Their offense will be the Best in the SEC this year, that said- I fully believe that if you look at match ups by position we'll be ok. This one is not for the old school guys. It's a perfect new school game, who can scheme out the other team. They have strengths for sure and we will LOSE a shoot-out, however many shoot-outs have been decided by turn overs. I predict that we win with 3 INTs ! Without 3 Turnovers we don't keep up, but thats up to us to create.

I disagree.... losing Mallett is a big deal.

In a pure down pour. UT beat them on the ground with zero passing game by the second half. It was run up the gut run right run left recycle or punt. That game was a throw back to the 1950's for sure.

I seem to remember the media hype about Brantley being the best QB in the SEC last year....that didn't quite work out that way LOL! So I'm not sold on Wilson just because the media says he's great. Also, Auburn's secondary was their weakness last year. However, the hogs have a very good RB and some of the best WRs out there. So we will see on game day! I think we always have a chance to win!

Stallworth had a broken wrist. No John Henderson (ankle). Eric Parker gets his shoulder separated early on. KW had 6 catches for like 96, but 4 drops and at least one OPI. We should have bombed them. The story of Fulmer's career.

You guys are falling for sensational ESPN reporting.

The media isn't satisfied having a simple 2-horse race btwn Alabama and LSU. So they create a contender out of thin air -- Arkansas.

Mallett's gone. Hog fans (and others) will soon see what they're missing.

Vols throw the ball 49 times and win in an "upset" -- 38-31.

Yes, I believe enough to drive 5.5 hours from Dallas to witness it in person.
