Does anyone really think coaching search #5 would end any better?

Based on the Admin's history of hiring FB coaches since Fulmer, I don't really have any confidence a new coach search would do anything but sink the program further into the abys. Understand all the Pruitt hate and some of it is deserved but like it or not, IMO sticking with Pruitt is still the best course for now.

The next guy is always the best guy.

They aren't firing Pruitt unless their is cause. They can't.....cash strapped because of Covid and just extended him a few months ago.

Best we can hope for is that he gets lucky and we somehow don't embarrass ourselves worse than what we did on Saturday.

If he doesn't relinquish total control of the offense, meaning personnel descions he won't last 2 years..

He also has to stop playing thr blame game and protecting his favorite players..

Is this what the Browns tell themselves when they draft another QB?

Until you have a good one, you don't have one. How many times you've struck out previously doesn't really change the fact...you still don't have one and have to go up and take another swing.

Is CPF playing the long game? See Chavis rumor. Also Coach Cut is 1-5 at Duke. Hmmm......

Nope, we'll screw the next one up too, because this Administration is not committed to winning, and this fanbase will financially support a subpar program into the ground...the powers-that-be know it.

I refuse to get caught up into talk about replacing Pruitt, because the reality of that is at least two years away...probably more, and when we get around to it it will be a half-a$$ed, low budget affair with predictable sub-par results. Oh yeah...it'll likely end up as a national media embarrassment for the University to boot.

Cheers.

Nope...no confidence that UT admin cares about a winning football program. They just want the $$$ and fans (me included) will flock to UT football until us old guys who remember the glory days die and no one around remembers a winning program....only then will attendance and $$$ drop and admin take appropriate corrective action

I've said this after every one of our coaching searches. We should not fire our current coach until we have the coach we want "in the bag". If we do not learn from our mistakes, our next coach will be yet another downgrade that we pray is a "diamond in the rough".

I’ll be the first to admit I had full faith and trust in Pruitt and then the 3 big losses happened.

It takes a big man to admit when he’s in over his head. Prolly should start thinking about swallowing some pride at this point

I really don't think we have a choice but to keep him. IF he were to go 2-8 this year then maybe there is no choice the other way.

We are Gatsby at the end of the pier reaching for the green light during coaching searches. Like Gatsby, we end up face down dead in a pool by the end of the search. So we beat on....

Honestly the problem hasn't ever been people not wanting the job, it's been not hiring the right ones who do want it and hiring morons instead.

You're probably right. This program used to be so good. And now? Well, I think I might just go fishing Saturday. It's just too painful.

Like I said when the last search was on... I have no confidence our administration will hire the coach we need.
