For example, chess, checkers, monopoly, Risk, military simulation games (Squad Leader, etc.).

I know that people mostly play computer games but I wondered whether anyone still likes the old-fashioned games

My wife and I like board games when we can find enough that are interested. Monopoly, Risk, Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, Scrabble, Pictionary, Scattegories, Outburst, Taboo...I'm sure there are others I haven't listed. We also like card games. Spades, Hearts, Uno, Phase 10, Euchre, Skip-Bo, Cards Against Humanity, Game of Phones, Exploding Kittens. Its just hard to find anyone that wants to put forth the time and effort to coordinate a game night and set aside several hours to dedicate to old school gaming.

I enjoy the military simulation games, Arab-Israeli Wars, Men of Iron, Alesia (Caesar vs. the Gauls), Anzio (WWII in Italy). I was never any good at chess. I love to play Euchre and am glad that you have heard of it.

Huge fan of board games! Scrabble and Monopoly are my jam! For Christmas my wife gave me a big fancy deluxe Scrabble set where the tiles snap into place and the board is on a swivel! It's great! They make a Monopoly version of this as well and one day I will have it. Also when we have friends over we will play Cards Against Humanity, which is a lot of fun. Yahtzee is a popular game in our household as well. Mancala is another that we play quite a bit.

We like card games too. Phase 10, Uno, Black Jack, Poker, etc.

Not as much as I used to. I never "let" my kids win at games of any kind and my wife gets mad about it. Made my oldest son cry playing Monopoly once. I loved playing Risk. Kids never understood strategy so they never wanted to play.

I love chess but I do not make an effort to play. My wife is a backgammon player, which is OK, but I prefer chess.

Stratego is fun. Settlers of Cataan is really fun. Ticket to Ride is pretty fun. I like games with a big strategy component. I like trivia games. I like word games like Catch Phrase. Basically any kind of game that doesn't rely too much on luck.

Ever play Speed Scrabble? I love the idea of scrabble but it's too slow for me.

You play with the tiles, but no board. Everybody starts with 7 tiles and you build a crossword puzzle out of your letters in front of you. As soon as somebody has used all 7 letters correctly, that person says "go" and everybody draws a tile. As soon as somebody used all 8 letters correctly, that person says "go" and you go until all tiles in the pile are gone and somebody completes a crossword puzzle with all their letters. Then you count up scores and the tiles you didn't use count against you.

If you want a more adult version of Cards against humanity I suggest Joking Hazard by Cyanide and Happiness.

Enjoy cooperative board games, Pandemic being the favorite. Forbidden Island is also a fun one, quick and easy to play.

If you want complex, Spirit Island is fun. Codenames is a fun card game with more than 4 people.

I'll also second the suggestion for Ticket to Ride, though it's not cooperative.

Me and my fiancé just started playing chess. We love it, and are interested in studying hard enough to become really good

My wife is pretty picky but I am having this urge to play the game of life, the say early 70's version, just to see again what happens in life now that I know better. It was so random as I recall, and of course estimating the net worth of everybody at the table is not super easy when you're six years old.

Plus, it's heartily endorsed by Art Linkletter.
