Does anyone else feel this way

USC can go to hell as long as they have that scum-sucking coaching staff.

Unless we happen to meet in a bowl, we won't even play each other during the entire tenure of this commit class. The only thing that makes me follow their recruiting efforts is the continual harassment of potential UT commits by Kiffin and co.

I find it very satisfying that USC is ranked outside of the top 10 now per Rivals. All that X has done is lose a commitment, maybe didn't fit their system, while Dooley is rolling in some good players and we are now ranked 7th on Rivals.

Don't count your chickens...

Wasn't Nu'Keese a Gator commit this time last year? I can't help but think he wants to pull another NSD surprise.

As long as they get who they need and win this coming season I couldn't care less about Kiffin. Although if by some grace of God we somehow happen to finish ahead of him well then that would just be icing on the cake.

Alright, I knew this was coming so I will defend myself once and that is it since I HAVE let it go. I was thrilled to hear X was gone. If he would've stayed, we would've been on probation in a couple of years. I am all about Dooley. Underrated coach, phenominal recruiter, class act, and he is from the south. I just think it is great that so many made a big deal about X's efforts last year, and Dooley has done the same thingin just under 3 weeks. Now we are ahead (for the time being) of the "mighty mighty" Trojans. I guess guys really do want to wear our yellow jerseys.

Nothing to substantiate this.

there really isnt that big of a difference between the #5 class and the #10 class. As long as we are getting what we need I'm happy.

I fully agree! We need to worry about us right now and I think Dooley is taking care of business rather well at the moment.:good!:

I don't understand why people act we we should just forget about Kiffin. Any anger at Kiffin is entirely justified. He split for Cali less than a month before signing day and left our football program in the toilet for the forseeable future.

Kiffin is "playing" with these UT commits, and with the fans here. It's sour grapes on his part for all the hate coming out of the Vols fans. He has no intention of giving some of these kids a scholly, he just likes to intimidate and tease......as he did with Meyer. Ambles being the exception. On another note, he DID recruit these kids, especially the early enrollee's. True, CDD kept it together, but Kiffin and staff got them here in the first place. I'm not defending this slug, just being realistic about the situation.

IF we lose commits to Kiffin and Co. it would only mean that those kids were committed to the coaches, not to the school.

The ones who stuck with us through it all, like Corey Miller, were committed to the school and must have liked the looks of those yellow jerseys.

Yes. He was given a shot to coach his dream job and double his paycheck in the process. I'd left too.

That last statement seems to carry little repect for what CDD has managed to accomplish thusfar.

I would focus on the future with CDD rather that Kiffin.

Does it really matter cause Kiffin wins either way. If UT's class finishes in the top 8 Kiffin and co will say it's because of the ground work they laid. If we finish lower, then Kiffin says it's because we are missing him and his staff's recruiting. So frankly I could give a flying fart where USC finishes. As long as we have addressed our needs then it's all good as far as I'm concerned.

And we'll laugh at him when he says it. Similar to how whenever Kiffin would brag on Ole Miss' talent level the OM fans would think "have you seen our OL try to pass block"?

Also, considering how Kiffin liked to brag about a top 10 class last season that was partially built on CPF's recruiting it would be amazingly hypocritical for him to take credit for Dooley's top 10 class this year. Not saying he won't do it, but it isn't necessarily a win for him as some/many will see through it.

They are gonna make us hate them after they take a couple of players.. It's all good Dooley needs a whole year in. an a full staff.. We will be just fine.. GO VOLS!!!!!!

You know I think we should focus on how we can win the SEC E and move on from there.

I couldn't care less about USC. We should worry about the teams we play year in and year out. I am more concerned with trying to beat Fla, Ala, Ga, etc., if we do not keep up with them in the recruiting wars. We cannot continuously relying on outcoachiong these teams in order to win.

To be perfectly honest with you, I'm only concerned about how we finish. They're gone, so let's let them be gone. CDD and co. seem to be doing a fine job.

I would agree with you but Kiff wont let it die. He tweets, he lies about UT, he snakes in on our recruits and I do mean the ones after he left, and picks off hires as we go after em. So until then, I say lets beat the hell out of that dead horse. Besides everytime I hit it, it moves a little.:post-4-1090547912:

He left for what he felt was a better job in a more desireable location. People from all walks of life do it everyday. Get over it.

If Kiffin, after 14 months, was able to leave "our football program in the toilet for the forseeable future" then UT didn't have much of a football program to begin with.

Stop acting like scorned lover hilljacks.

And that was pretty much the case. Fulmer had run our once dominant program off the road and into a ditch. Kiffin, EO and co. were handed the keys, and promptly pulled the car out of the ditch, back onto the road, and proceded to drive it off a cliff. At that time of year there was no chance of hiring a comparable replacement, and now we're in even worse shape than we were when Fulmer was still coaching. Don't get me wrong, Fulmer HAD to go, it just sucks to have Kiffin do what he did after we gave him a shot to resurrect his career after the Oakland debacle.

It is debatable whether UT is currently in worse shape thanit was during Fulmer's final years. If so, UT appears to be heading upwards and not continuing the delusional spiral further downwards from 2003-2008.

How do we appear to be heading upwards? Our original hire after Fulmer bolted for greener pastures after one season, and then we hired a guy whose only coaching esxperience is 3 years of losing in the WAC.

Last year's player development, what appears to be 2 good recruiting classes, renewed enthusiasm, being competitive and not getting destroyed 100-37 and 59-15 by our 2 biggest rivals, etc. It is a process and I think 2010 will a 5-7 year but you have to look at the bigger picture and the trend appears upward.

But 95% of all those things can be attributed to CLK. It is a major positve that we were able to retain Chaney and LT IMO, but I continue to be underwhelmed by Dooley. We'll see how things pan out on Wednesday, if we get Rogers and Ambles that will be huge, but for the most part Dooley has just closed on many of Kiffin's recruits, and signed a few mediocre ones of his own.

Dooley hasn't done anything to date to overwhelm or underwhelm any realistic person. CLK continued to recruit many of Fulmer recruits last year just as CLK is continuing to recruit many of Carroll's recruits at USC. That is what happens during coaching changes.

Change from 2003-2008 was good. It sucked that UT's first hire was only there 14 months but it usually takes multiple hires to recover. i.e OU post Switzer, UGA post Dooley, UF post Spurrier, Bama post Bear, Nebraska post Osborn, etc
