Speaking as a musician, Rocky Top is much easier to play than MOKH. Long tones are always harder to play than short ones.

Come to think of it, it doesn't take much talent to play it....

We do it as tradition for every home game but I wasn't sure if any other sec team did it. I would like to hear the Gators play Rockytop.

I think you're mistaken, depending on the year. I was at the 2005 game, and the ND band played Down the Field, not Rocky Top. Still a nice gesture though.

Something interesting is that a couple of out of conference schools the past few years did not want to send the Pride their fight song music. The directors had ask several times before they would agree to send the parts. I don't see why it would be such a big deal. I'll keep the names of the schools confidential.

It's hard to make a guess, but I imagine that it was due to some over-inflated directors thinking the Pride would somehow either a) do the pieces a disservice, or b) show up their programs.

Most fight songs are not difficult, and when played with higher quality players sound much much better than some of the smaller schools can do.
