It really does seem they are trying to hire a coach for the sake of hiring a coach. It's incredibly irresponsible.

This has to be intentional, institutional sabotage.

One of the main reasons for forcing a hire by today was reportedly to shore up the diminishing early signing class.

Does anybody really believe a highly ranked recruiting class is going to be swayed by this guy....an unpopular NCST coach with a losing conference record?

Sad thing is, HaslaCurriePort are gonna make this hire knowing full good and well we won’t be competitive as a result. There’s no way they can look at hiring this guy and think we have any chance at all.

Doeren has his best recruiting class coming in this year. Maybe a raise will keep him in Raleigh...

Per Rivals...2015:35th... 2016:43rd ... 2017:53rd... and so far this year they're 28th.

Currie going to use 250 mil Neyland renovation money to bring it down to 40,000 and Customize it for soccer. No more football.

I'll root for the players and coach, and hope I am wrong. I said anyone but Schiano and I would go out and cheer.
But the man underperforms his talent every year with a far easier schedule than we will see next year. Its a nightmare for anyone.

I think this guy is just getting a raise from State jmo. TIFWIW. It was reported at first that there has been no formal interview with Doeren, and people were saying that this is just out there to force State’s hand and get the contract extension he wants.

IMO, we would have been better off at this point to force Butch to hire new OC and DC with all this extra money to get proven ones. We may end up in a worse situation than we were and be spending much more money.

I think it's time to stop all of this, we are looking bad. I believe the best thing we can do as a fan base now is to show how much we just don't care. No games, no merchandise definitely NO DONATIONS, don't attend team events of any kind. I know it sucks but to remove the rot that is deep within the University this must be done. My guess is 2-3 years and Has-slums will be out along with their butler Currie and we have to hope those that take their place will see what happened and care about the school. Acting like a bunch of unhappy teenage girls isn't going to stop them and it makes the fans look worse than the administration. Wait till they announce the coach and no ones there to hear it. Ticket sales drop to almost nothing. That's when they will start to hear us.

This outrage is real and it won't stop until the current administration is relieved of it's duty. They should not be anywhere near a college campus ever again

Regardless of who we end up hiring, if we hire anyone at all, I can only imagine the flaming we will take from ESPN, FoxSports, etc for a very, very long time. (Note: I don’t listen to those guys anyway but many people do, including recruits).

Every replay or game action in commercials or lead ins to on air segments where they talk about Tennessee will show all of our greatest hits (interceptions, fumbles, passing 3 times from the 1 yd line, you know, the good stuff that winning programs are made out of). We’ve been hated on for a long time but the next few years are going to be hate of epic proportions.

Here’s to another 10 years of mediocrity VN! Cheers.

What is Haslam getting in return for this? Is he getting kickback somehow? There is more to this and it has got to come out before he rams another low tier coach in our face.
