It is amazing that we had players on the same level as Baker Mayfield and Fournette on our team in Knoxville and we have jack s88t to show for it.

Our guys will be better in the NFL.

Butch Jones incompetent coaching held them back in college.

Mark my words: In 4-5 years people will wonder how we only won 9 games with the talent we had on the 2015 and 2016 Vols.

Dobbs, Kamara, Hurd, Sutton, Kirkland, Bituli, and Warrior will all be superstars in the NFL.

Jalen Hurd was the worst back in the SEC before the injury to his lady parts.

I will never understand some UT fans' level of denial when it comes to that guy.

Put the emotion aside big guy.

Jalen is #6 all time, behind grown ass men. Right behind Jamal and Ahead of Ced. Did you watch those guys play? Not condescending. #legit.

Think about the garbage Jalen had to face lined up in the shotgun? That is telling.

He was on track to break the UT rushing record while playing behind atrocious offensive lines during his time here. Poor play calling, the lack of blocking, and conclusions did Jalen in.

Jalen Hurd v Leonard Fournette. Lord, are you people serious? I'm glad JH came here and appreciate what he did. But from a RB perspective he is not in LFs league. Hurd did have extras that I thot he excelled at like pass protection and receiving. But, ball in hands ... 2 different levels.

Well. Not precisely.

Jalen was born of...nevermind. Jalen did Jalen in.

I dont know his family. But, on outside looking in he had an uphill battle. I don’t understand the hate. He acted like a punk. But, so do most 18 - 21 yr olds.

He was talented. Wish him well, and move on.

Rushing records don’t mean anything in college anymore with a 12-13 game schedule and more talented backs jumping to the NFL.

How many more carries did he require to get there?

He wasn’t a fit for Butch’s “system”.
He would have fit in better at Bama.
It’s hard to average much per carry when you’re getting swarmed behind the line of scrimmage.

Kamara > Hurd in EVERY ASPECT...

How did he manage to end up at #6?

Still dont think he would have caught the Travis’.

Mainly because the rushing records at Tennessee are pretty underwhelming to begin with. The best season any back has ever had at UT rushed for less than 1400 yards

This is a bad example.

But, people used that same line of questioning to debate Michael Jordan’s scoring.

Jalen Hurd is not Michael Jordan. But, getting from pt A to B is still A to B.

You know how bad that example is and you still went with it.

I don't think Hurd was as bad as some would argue but I can't entertain the idea for a nanosecond that he compares to Fournette. The career yards number is a function of carries. He's not even pushing my top 5 just for Vols. I'm guessing that's more common than not.

But somehow Kamara was a stud last year?

Kamara didn't have 3 years of wear and tear from getting his head beat in. I'm not sure Jalen even took a hand-off his first year where he didn't get hit in the backfield at least once, yet he nearly always got positive yardage.

And I wouldn't call 596 rushing yards in a season "being a stud".
