It's hard to argue any other player has had as many clutch plays as Dobbs has.

Big games against A&M and bama would put him right in the middle of the heisman talk. I wonder how not having any big games late in the season would affect his chances?

That's when stats will matter...but if we win the next two I doubt Dobbs gives a **** about the Heisman

Could improve them honestly. Clutch plays in every big game. Then excellent stats on back end of schedule.

Dobbs just making it to New York would be an accomplishment. Long, long way to go when it comes to that though. Lamar Jackson has already won the actual award though as of October 1st. Everyone is competing for 2nd.

Even if he doesn't impress against bama and Tamu, the last 5 games on the schedule should have Dobbs kicking serious ass.

I'd be perfectly content to see him get invited to the ceremony as a finalist. It would be great for recruiting and for him. I couldn't think of anyone better (maybe some equal, but not better) to represent the Vols as an ambassador.

Joshua Dobbs exhibits excellence on and off the field with his performance, integrity and leadership by example better than any other player in the nation.
Whether he's recognized as the man who stands against all odds and delivers the game-winning touchdown when his team needs him the most, the man who shows up academically to work hard in the classroom or if you know him as the man who donates hours of his precious spare time to bond with a six-year-old cancer survivor, Josh Dobbs has already proven time and again more than any other that he is the most outstanding player in college football in the United States whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Last time I checked, that's exactly who they award the Heisman Trophy.

I remember a guy who used a Hail Mary pass as a springboard to the Heisman...

He embodies the very description of who the Heisman Memorial Trophy committee says deserves to win the award.

You'll notice highlight reel flash and inflated stats is not even on their list. So no way on Earth he shouldn't win it unless someone changes the selection criteria. It's a prestigious award and not one to just throw at whoever piles up the most TDs or yards. Those who thought it was only about on the field individual exploits and not overall team leadership can't see past their noses.

I'd like to see em invited and not go. Tell em he's got more important things to do.

I'm sure he's thinking about winning first. But on Gameday Saturday they said he has a whiteboard in his apartment that says "SEC Championship, National Championship, Heisman". So I think it is at least on his mind somewhat.

It's been changed before.

kind of sad that now that it actually has a chance to be reality, we no longer have Dobbs4Heisman around. I am sure he's around, but it's hard to tell which pessimistic screen name he is now.

He is around. He said he will not post anything positive about Dobbs anymore. Said it was his plan all along to hype him up, then post how Dobbs is pure garbage and that has propelled Dobbs to Heisman talk.

I'm still here.

I'm just not hyping him anymore.

Its all negative for me till we get past Bama.
