First-year Tennessee defensive coordinator Bob Shoop routinely has called senior, Preseason All-SEC cornerback Cameron Sutton a “pro.” So as Sutton discussed the impending impact of ninth-ranked Tennessee’s freshman class of wide receivers, his words resonated a bit louder Sunday as the Vols prepared for Thursday’s opener...

“Definitely going to make a lot of plays. Obviously have to step up into their role to make plays,” Sutton told a group of reporters. “They don’t really shy away from anything. Very competitive. Another group of guys that come to work each and every day, and they always ask questions — not just because we’re facing them, but they’re asking, what are we seeing, as far as DBs.”

Sutton particularly praised the highly touted group --- which included Tyler Byrd, Marquez Callaway, Brandon Johnson and Latrell Williams on signing day --- for their approach to learn more about both sides of the ball.

Dobbs is not even close to becoming a good mid-range or long ball passer. He keeps saying that he is focusing on getting better, however the truth is that he has not improved on accuracy in the mid-range and long ball throw. By the way, I know it takes great receivers and blocking, but that is a cop-out when I hear Dobbs say that......

Dobbs looked better in the spring game, but lets see it against Fla. With Malone and Williams do we really need George in the orange zone??

Tuscon. Sorry, I don't remember your practice reports. Obviously you've seen Dobbs at every practice since Tampa because you know he hasn't improved.

Make sure and post your notes after each practice this fall. Thanks.

Dobbs will have his first true test on September 10th, with the Virginia Tech secondary. They are fast and athletic, and will play more zone then usual, tryin to bait Dobbs into making throws into areas that appear open, but are not. IF he does good in this game with accuracy and makes good decisions, you guys have nothing to worry about for the rest of the season. On your schedule, only secondary's that will be better then VT's is Bama and Florida.

Stating facts is nowhere near a cop-out. A QB is only as good as his WRs and OL. If you cannot understand that then you are as equally dumb as your comments.
