I cometely disagree with the assessment that he's regressed this year. When he's had a pocket, he's thrown a few beautiful long passes that were spot on.

Yes he's struggled on some intermediate stuff and he's made two bad throws under duress. He has some accuracy issues, but keep in mind from the look of his mechanics he's had no qb coaching.

The bull rush up the middle and the blind side pressure must be addressed.

As I've said all along, we can win and win big with with this kid. He's not the pure dropback passer we tried to make him in the App game.

Protect him and use him properly and he's a great qb for this team. Have you ever seen a qb this hard to tackle and with this much lower body strength?

Dormady fans? He looks like a fine qb but he'd be hospitalized at this point.

You definitely don't want a less mobile QB in there right now. Too many jail breaks and guys running free at your QB. Dobbs won't last if they don't fix it.. Florida, Bama, even UGA and A&M have better lines than what we've seen so far.

Right on!! No qp coaching, always seems to step left when throwing from pocket, not toward his target, for one thing.

Gotta disagree with his assessment that Dobbs is a "rudimentary one read QB". We haven't given him any time in the pocket to past one read this season. Last year, when given time, he went thru progressions just fine.

I fear we might never get to see what type of passing QB Dobbs can be because of weak offensive line play.

I agree, no qb could make more than 1 read behind this line right now.

He had plenty of time during the play when he threw the interception last night. Actually held the ball too long which is why it was intercepted.

I think he's tried (or perhaps the OC) to hard to be a pocket passer. He is what he is at this point. We need to play to his strengths

I like Dobbs but I really can't wait til we have a QB who can pass downfield.

This is kind of like the complaints about playcalling. I think it's completely misplaced. The o-line is making a lot of people look bad right now.

Josh "the scrambler" Dobbs has no choice but to run for his life so far this season. O line is the only position group on this team that has regressed.

I'll give him a B+. It's very likely he was told to hold back in the Appy State game, but last night (after the first quarter at least) we saw what he is capable of.

TOO many other QBs out there with less experience (even TRUE/RS Freshman) playing MUCH better. So...he is performing barely average, IMHO...therefore my C-...

I feel like maybe the offensive coaching staff has listened to critics a bit too much this offseason and has tried to force the passing game in ways that haven't helped us.

We need to run to set up the pass, make defenses respect Dobbs' legs, and then hit them with more play-action and run/pass option plays. Moving the pocket for Dobbs seems like it should be a no brainer as well from time to time.

They need to try to cover up our offense's biggest weakness (pass blocking), accept that Dobbs is a much better runner than passer, and (perhaps most importantly) try to avoid predictability and mix up the play calling on early downs. Dobbs' inconsistency passing and our OL's struggles pass blocking spell trouble for predictable passing downs.

Well said! Dobbs will never be able to stay in pocket with that OLine. I'm just glad people starting to see he is not problem. Yes he has somethings to improve but dang he running for his life

He has completed 27 passes on the season

Josh Dobbs career completion percentage up to this point is better than Worley, Bray, Simms, and Crompton.

He sits at 60.1, Erik Ainge finished at 60.5.

27 completions is only relevant to attempts made. Which I think is about 48 this season.

But those young QBs don't have our line either. We have some serious issues up front point blank
