Link: Ranking All 128 College Football Starting Quarterbacks for 2016

#10 overall and #2 in the SEC. Below is the top 10 plus our opponents' QB rankings. Eason seems a bit high for somebody who's never taken a single collegiate snap. Worth noting how poorly the rest of the east looks: 76, 81, 84, 86, & 87.

1.) Deshaun Watson, Clemson
2.) Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
3.) J.T. Barrett, Ohio State
4.) Greg Ward, Houston
5.) Chad Kelly, Ole Miss
6.) Patrick Mahomes, Texas Tech
7.) Josh Rosen, UCLA
8.) Luke Falk, Washington State
9.) Brad Kaaya, Miami
10.) Joshua Dobbs, Tennessee
...
22.) Taylor Lamb, App State
...
28.) Jacob Eason, Georgia
...
41.) Trevor Knight, Texas A&M
...
50.) Cooper Bateman, Alabama
...
60.) Jarod Evans, Virginia Tech
...
76.) Drew Barker, Kentucky
...
81.) Luke Del Rio, Florida
...
84.) Brandon McIlwain, South Carolina
...
86) Kyle Shurmur, Vandy
87.) Drew Lock, Mizzou
...
113) Greg Windham, Ohio

The sportswriters are just all kinds of eaten up over Eason.

I really want that kid to know exactly what the grass in Athens tastes like by the time we are done with them.

I know most reporters aren't as smart as I am.

Actually, what you're emphasizing too little is, that JD has been surrounded by a very young team for 2 years (in various combination: an inexperienced OL + a shallow D-front + inexperienced secondary / LB + injuries at key positions + certain innap off-field/after-midnite player behavior), whose talent + discipline is just now blooming -- but you want to blame a 2015 9-3 + bowl win season on HC + Jancek (when in fact, it was the players -- for understandable reasons -- who just couldn't hold on to 4th qtr leads against the more talented OU + FL squads).

As talented + well-coached as Clem was last year, even they couldn't win the NC, but they were very successful. And, it's not now or never / this year or never, for Tennessee (otherwise, I suggest you go into that locker-room this afternoon and tell JG + the youngsters that, as motivation?).

Your tone (of Bashing Jancek + current HC + this morning's now Bashing Fulmer) should be toned down, imo, but do as you must.

I'm wondering why you think I would take offense to this?

I know most reporters aren't as smart as I am.

All I know is by season's end Dobbs will be a heisman winner and national champ.

I like your spirit. I hope you aren't betting $$ on that...or at least not too much.

I dont think Watson will be at the top after FSU. My other home is about 30 miles from Clemson and I went to several games last year. Talented but comes with attitude. And what an Alabama QB ranked 50th and Florida 81st?? The sky is falling

How is he even ranked? How does anyone know what he will or won't do really? As far as I know, he's not even the starter on his own team!

So Eason is at #28 and I am assuming Greyson Lambert isn't on the list, yet UGA hasn't named a starter? Okay.

During the first Falcons pre-season game, I saw a scroll across the bottom on ESPN that Georgia had named Eason their starter.

Can't wait to feed the FNG some grass from his home stadium on Oct 1st.

Trevor Knight and Cooper Bateman ranked below Eason is a joke. Trevor lost starting job to Baker Mayfield (#2 in this list) but he is easily Top 10-15 type. Bateman will be top 10-15 by end of season.
Dobbs at 10 is good rating..tad low.. I would rate him around 6-7. He is elusive, good leader, runs the ball well and does all the good stuff at the line. He needs work on creating explosive pass plays but apart from that there is nothing you can blame him for.

Being ranked 10th out of 128 starters is very, very good and well-deserved for Joshua. We all know his strengths and his one weakness....if he improves that he can be finish as a top 5 QB by season's end. Here hoping he figures it out and has a special season.

The best team in the country isn't more than 50% to win the national championship, even if that was Tennessee.
You can take the top 4 national champion contenders - Alabama, tOSu, Clemson, and FSU - and TOGETHER they are almost 50% likely that one of these teams will win it. So to say Tennessee will win the championship is just foolish from a mathematical point of view. I hope it happens ,though...
