Dobbs played very poorly. Was it all his fault? No. He made bad decisions, bad throws and look liked a fish out of water. The OL looked much worse than last season. Hurd and Kamara didnt look like they played with the same intensity we are used to seeing. The playcallng was absolutely horrid and Butch did an absolutely terrible job tonight as a whole.
It wasnt all Dobbs fault as the whole team did terrible. But at this point I have to concede a simple fact: Dobbs is just not that good at passing. This game showed that more prehaps than any other game he has played. It seems that the coaches wanted to keep him from running as much and use his arm to win. He didnt do a good job of that. The deep pass was a good one, but his other incompletions overshadow that.
The announcers had it right. They didn't unleash Dobbs running this game because they fel we could win without it. If you anyone is really honest, they'd say Dobbs was much more on the passing game tonight. He did well at hitting receivers and was certainly not run first in the offense. Starting next week, he's free to run...
I honestly think they overlooked App st played very Vanilla not to show their hand, but it almost bit us in the Ass! I think we see a much better team next week!
IT'S NOT THE PLAYCALLING!! Our coaches are protecting Dobbs from himself. He is not a consistent passer and he will never be. He's a playmaker that manages our offense the best he can.
I will be excited for next year just to know that we have a true passer at the QB position.
Give me a break - I was yelling for a quarter and a half to throw it to Malone. He beat #4 all night long and looked like he had 6 inches on him and Dobbs never looked his way until that play (except for the overthrown ball on the first drive). It was a little bit, but there's also something to be said for recognizing the matchup and hanging the ball out there where Malone could go get it.
