Dobbs performance

I don't get all the negativity towards Dobbs. His o-line played poorly and gave him little time to throw. Hurd had a few good plays but mostly looked pedestrian. Kamara did nothing of note. It's the o-line, folks.

Dobbs played very poorly. Was it all his fault? No. He made bad decisions, bad throws and look liked a fish out of water. The OL looked much worse than last season. Hurd and Kamara didnt look like they played with the same intensity we are used to seeing. The playcallng was absolutely horrid and Butch did an absolutely terrible job tonight as a whole.

It wasnt all Dobbs fault as the whole team did terrible. But at this point I have to concede a simple fact: Dobbs is just not that good at passing. This game showed that more prehaps than any other game he has played. It seems that the coaches wanted to keep him from running as much and use his arm to win. He didnt do a good job of that. The deep pass was a good one, but his other incompletions overshadow that.

Didn't a coach in the preseason say this about Dobbs, that everyone trashed.. It was an unnamed coach..

Dobbs also got no help from his receivers. They might have been a tad underthrown / overthrown but PW7 dropping the ball in endzone, kamara and Hurd dropped a couple...

I honestly think they overlooked App st played very Vanilla not to show their hand, but it almost bit us in the Ass! I think we see a much better team next week!

The announcers had it right. They didn't unleash Dobbs running this game because they fel we could win without it. If you anyone is really honest, they'd say Dobbs was much more on the passing game tonight. He did well at hitting receivers and was certainly not run first in the offense. Starting next week, he's free to run...

Man. I hope your right. But this reads like a fairy tale. No offense.....

Not going to win championships with Dobbs QBing this team, imo...

Didn't win championship with manning either. Bad oline and vanilla play calling killed us. Dobbs made some bad decisions. Coach need to let him play his game hands down

Stop. Just stop. If, and its a HUGE if, they overlooked them and played vanilla then Butch needs to be fired right now. Let me explain. We were ranked #9 in the country, were picked to win the East and make it to the CF playoffs. When you have expectations like that, you dont pull garbage like vanilla gameplans. You play like you want to win a freaking championship. You play to crush your opponent. That didnt happen.

If they actually overlooked a team, then thats the coaches fault, most notably Butch Jones. If he doesnt realize how important every game is this season then he is not the guy. A win is a win and its great. However, I did not expect this team to look this bad.

Dobbs cant throw, he won't throw, and his footwork is still terrible. Another UT QB in regress mode.

IT'S NOT THE PLAYCALLING!! Our coaches are protecting Dobbs from himself. He is not a consistent passer and he will never be. He's a playmaker that manages our offense the best he can.

I will be excited for next year just to know that we have a true passer at the QB position.

It has been the coaches fault since Butch has been here

Worely
Peterman
And Dobbs have been below average
throwing the football.

And so will Dormady in this offense.

It was a little bit, but there's also something to be said for recognizing the matchup and hanging the ball out there where Malone could go get it.
Give me a break - I was yelling for a quarter and a half to throw it to Malone. He beat #4 all night long and looked like he had 6 inches on him and Dobbs never looked his way until that play (except for the overthrown ball on the first drive).

I could see it clearly from Z14 all night long - of course I definitely had a better vantage point than him. :p

Dobbs was off tonight... like most of the rest of the team. The coaches didn't do them any favors by calling the garbage plays that they called. But seriously, did anyone really expect Dobbs to come out and light up the passing lanes? Dobbs is who he is. Either let him play to his strengths or put him on the bench. Regardless, I agree with those who say he will not win us a championship, SEC or otherwise.
