In my humble opinion, Dobbs is a much better passer *when he's moving out of the pocket ala '09 Crompton. I think he struggles to make reads in the pocket behind our struggling line.
Are we going to see a mental block from Dobbs against Vandy like our whole team has every year against Florida?
Josh Dobbs starting vs Vandy:
2 Games
145 Yards
0 TD
4 INT
Likely could have had 4+ INT's against them this year. Are they in his head at this point?
We were down our best WR in both games. And this year we were also down Malone. I think only 3 players caught a pass.
I yell this about 40 times per game actually. He should be in motion on every snap. Look at the game-tying TD at the end of the SC game, or the 2-point conversion against Mizzou.
In the 2-point conversion, Dobbs takes the snap, goes right, the O-line and blockers go with him. It was successful because Mizzou covered all the receivers which gave Dobbs room to run.
This is our offense. Not that sitting duck garbage Bajakian thinks is successful.
And one was a RB. No weapons for Dobbs.
When you only have 2 receivers who can get seperation that is very easy to defend. Just put a safety in each side and never worry about it.Eh. I'm not buying this as an excuse for Dobbs performance. The 2 weapons he DID have are our best WR's at seperating themselves.
Plus we are completely stacked at tight end and they great options to go to. Now to be fair, Bajakian wasn't calling plays where he was using Tight Ends as receivers, but when he did I don't think Dobbs saw them. He threw once to Alex Ellis and it was high.

We saw the Dobbs that Butch saw in practice and got bashed for not starting. People act like they know the players better than the coaches do.
I think he was successful early because of defenses that were either bad or not prepared for him. Vandy benefits from getting him late.
