"We couldn't have asked for anything better for Joshua," Stephanie said. "He has fantastic relationships with his professors and relationships with kids who are not just athletes, and yet he has such wonderful team chemistry with his teammates across the board."

Robert and Stephanie Dobbs know they have only a few more opportunities to watch their only child take the field as Tennessee's quarterback. Despite having witnessed hundreds of games over the years, they never take a single snap for granted.

"This being his senior year, we are just embracing and enjoying every moment and feel blessed being able to see it and experience it," Robert said. "I am thanking the good Lord that I am alive to see him in college and see him playing the game that he loves to play."

Good read, the Dobbs family continues to impress me. This is pretty amazing.

"Dobb is on schedule to graduate in May, and will have completed his five-year degree program in only four years with a minor in business."

That is a little more impressive than the 7 years it took me to complete a 4 year program.

Dobbs is special. In spite of the comments on this board about him, he is one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He proved that against that Florida defense. I believe we have yet to see his best and when he beats Bama in Neyland this year, there won't be anymore doubt about his greatness.

I've ragged on Dobbs passing game before and although it still isn't perfect, watching that Florida game in person really impressed me as far as his passing. 5 drops in the first half and every single pass should have been caught. A few weren't perfect, but they should have been caught. That's gotta be disheartening to a QB when you are giving your receivers opportunities, but they aren't capitalizing. Obviously, his second half performance shows he didn't let that get to him.

He's improved his game and consistency this year. He's an impressive student athlete from all aspects. Truly a CEO.

If for some reason football doesn't work out for him longer term, he sure will have a good career using his education. Kudos to this young man.

* moderator, please move this to the Football forum...thanks!

With loving, nurturing and caring parents like Robert and Stephanie Dobbs is there any wonder why Josh has turned out this way? This does't happen by accident, you know. The VolNation is, truly, blessed to have the Dobbs family amongst us. Here's wishing them all the very best for the future.... and a great big thank you!!!

It's too bad Dobbs isn't a RS JR right now. Then again, our QB situation probably looks very different if he had another year of eligibility.

His parents sat in the Terrace near me the last 2 years, but they weren't there for Florida. I was hoping that they had just been moved (upgraded) somewhere else. Anybody see them?

I saw his mother during the Vol Walk. It was cool that a lot of the team went up to her to say hi and hug her. Seems like a classy, nice woman.

My Dad use to say, that I was the only man he knew that managed to cram 4 years of college into 7. My record has been tied.

I remember that the only way he switched his recruitment was Arizona St is that when the Dobbs asked coaches what type of Aeronautical studies university's had. Coaches were vague and obviously knew nothing. Butch on the other hand went in depth which showed he did his research. Thankfully he did. Josh has been a fantastic young man and a really good football player. Bright future ahead for him.

Win or lose, Josh Dobbs is a man of character. Not to mention skill and intellect. And tough as nails, mentally and physically.
