Dobbs looking for ways to improve

Yeah nobody here hates Dobbs.

I was just imagining it.

Smh.

That's hatred? Lol. The poster exaggerated, he didn't hate. Fact is, Dobbs wasn't particularly good on passes last year that travelled 15 yards or more in the air....only completed 40% of those passes. Both he and his WRs need to be better this year.

Agreed. We wouldn't have won half our games on our schedule if it wasn't for Dobbs. Us fans don't have any room to talk.

There's a couple that were on our schedule 2 years ago that we would have won, if he would have been in the game. Georgia in particular. Worley tried, but if Dobbs would've played that game from finish to end, we win IMO.

I honestly have no idea who doesn't like Dobbs on here but I'm sure some don't.
The thing about it is, the backup has been the most popular quarterback in Tennessee for about 15% of the fans since I was born.
The biggest exaggeration that happens on this board is d4h acting like this is something new or only has ever happened to Dobbs.
People will have different opinions on everything, he just needs to grow the hell up and deal with it.

Oh, and no one ever said that nobody disliked Dobbs. It was only pointed out that saying Dobbs can work on something, doesn't mean that you dislike him.
He completely made that part up like he does 90% of what he says on the subject.

I disagree. Worley picked them apart through the air. Worley gave us the best chance to win, he just got hurt long enough for them to edge out a 3 point victory.

Worley had an amazing game that day.
May have been some others, but definitely not Georgia.

Wow, I thought this thread would turn into a Dobbs/Watson debate, or perhaps a Peyton/Eli debate. Maybe even a Dobbs/Peyton discussion (notice, no debate there).

Some of y'all are crotchety old bastards. Get a grip.

The 2014 Georgia game? Respectfully disagree. That was arguably the best game of Worley's career. Threw for 260-270 yards, 3 tds, no picks. Peterman was (surprise!) the problem that day in relief of Justin who took a big hit to his throwing arm/elbow/shoulder and missed 3 or so series before coming back to throw a TD late......if he doesn't miss that playing time, he likely doesn't screw up the handoff to Lane in the red zone like Peterman and I think we very likely win that game.

There were probably a couple other games in 2014 where we might've, even likely would've won had Josh played....I just don't think the Georgia game was one of them.

well...not so sure about that...it was perhaps Worley's best performance and he has UT on the cusp of winning that game. He doesn't go down for the better part of the 3rd QTR and who knows.

OTOH...don't let Gurley rush for 200+, the majority in the 2nd half if memory serves, and our guys probably win.

All I know is that if Dobbs is able to truly "get better" as a passer, he'll be the talk of the nation. His ability to elude and improvise is top of the list. If he does everything he did last year and can also consistently throw the football down the field with accuracy, they'll score a BUNCH of points, and a lot of talking heads will be using his name and Cam Newton in the same sentences.
