Dobbs, Is he our future?

it's a rerun of last year. He shines in flashes with his poise and running, but the wild throws, interceptions a missed opportunities pile up will have us calling for worley before long.

He does get moving well when the oline collapses. Not quite as easy to sack dobbs.

gooooo awayyyyy, troll clown!!!

Dobbs should start and he will start. Every student in the student section knew petermen had 2-3 drives then it was time for Dobbs

He really played with poise tonight. It was nice to see one of our QBs that didn't panic and look like a deer caught in head lights tonight. Another thing that was nice is he knew how to throw the ball away before taking a sack and lossing yards.

Hindsight is always 20/20

No, this is hilarious...get this...our last QB to win an sec game...we benched him....hahahaha...and then we, we, we....no, wait for it, we put him in a game and he gives a chance to win...don't go away, it gets more comical...then we debate whether or not we should keep playing him. (Welcome to ButchBall).

good runner, awful passer

I wouldn't say awful. I would say mediocre. He had some nice throws and he had some get away from him. I think a lot of it was nerves as well. Especially that short touchdown pass that he missed North on.

On another note, North is a monster.

Sadly, so is Amari Cooper.

I was all about Worley until seeing Dobbs tonight. He makes plays with his legs and if he can get his accuracy worked out this off season I think we have our qb for the next couple years. More help is on the way and I think the D will be great next year. I think the future is bright in BIG ORANGE COUNTRY!!

He is more effective in this offense that is obvious. I just wished he was more accurate in the passing game!

19 of 32 in his first action of the season isn't too shabby. Tee Martin wasn't the most accurate passer either and all we did was win a National Championship with him. Auburn is pretty good with Nick Marshall at QB and he is a horrible passer. A mobile QB gives you an added weapon on offense.

If you are going to run zone read you don't need pocket qb. Worley as pocket passer with this line=sacks
Dobbs only had 1 tonight

This! And I believe that the sack was on the next to last play for our offense. Our offense looks completely different (in a good way) with him running the show.

He looked good against a tough defense last night. I like Justin but with the young O-Line this year we need someone who can run. For me it is a no brainer that we stay with Dobbs the remainder of the season. We have a chance to win the rest of the games on the schedule.

Im wondering, what does everyone think of Dobbs being able to continue that momentum into next sat game?
His stats were almost identical to the five games he played in last year, almost 60% completions and a 4.6 yds per carry rushing avg.

wasn't that why they thought he needed to be red shirted this year ?

I know it killed you to watch Dobbs come in last night, move the offense up and down the field, put 20 points up on Bama's defense, calmly make some excellent throws (including 2 tds)in the face of pressure, rush for more yards by himself than Bama gives up per game and get the fans (and game commentators)excited.

Sorry about all that. I'm sure that was all very difficult for you to watch. How gracious of you to come into a "Dobbs thread" now and let everybody know that it was all fool's gold and that Dobbs will ultimately fail and be no good for the team. Real impressed with you.

Dobbs has earned the opportunity to prove that he is, or is not, the right choice at QB for the remainder of the season.

We're right where I said we would be at this point, before the Mississippi game: 3-5 with an injured Worley. The next 4 games will define the 2014 season.

I think our best chance for a strong finish is Dobbs.

Go Vols.

Man, I hear you loud and clear. I don't understand these fans that seem unhappy with anything positive happening. It's like they wanted us to get throttled like ole miss did last week or what bama did to a&m. We have a spark of hope going into the most winnable portion of our schedule.

I keep seeing people talk about Dobbs accuracy issues. While I agree that he needs to improve with accuracy, please stop acting like Worley has been anything more than disasterous recently. He has missed short, middle, and deep routes badly. Taken sack after sack and consistently turns the ball over in big situations. It's Dobbs and you don't look back.
