I don't know if I'm alone in this regard but, as JD's developing as a better passer, it seems that the team he's playing against, the Panthers, would benefit by having him in Charlotte as Cam's backup as opposed to Pittsburgh's setup. Charlotte's offense fits him better and if-and-whenever Cam gets ill or tweaked, then JD would shine much brighter within that program. If rocket man's going to eventually start in the NFL, this seems to be the place. Any thoughts?

I disagree. I think he is right where he needs to be. He is in a typical pro-style set up and provides a mobility aspect that Big Ben doesn't have. He goes and tries to play Cam he will get broken in half. CN is a freak of nature at QB.

Have been a Steelers fan since 1978. This doesn't make me an expert though BUT the Steelers see Mason R as the future at QB for them
So Dobbs needs to stay put and work hard. Once Ben is gone, they will try to allow Mason R to win the job. If Mason has a glaring weakness, then Dobbs can present himself as the better option
Not like Pittsburgh spent much on either of them. Wasn't one a 5th round pick and the other a 3rd rounder?
If one is better, then they can easily make a decision
Not like 1st rounder Heath Shuler vs 7th rounder Gus Ferrott
Don't have a high draft pick involved
