Dobbs article

Gotta say, I love this article. I spent 3 years supporting CAD equipment at the KSC. It was literally a playground for me. Space camp every day (mid to late '80s). I understand his awe of the place. Pretty cool.

Ha, we have too many people blindly allegiant to a coach. Heck, a decent portion of our fanbase was wanting to give Dooley a 4th year...

Agree, and they’re easy to spot - look at their avatar’s. Anyone with Pruitt is their avi will probably end up giving him the benefit of the doubt for longer than he deserves if things go south.

I worked in Orlando around that time for 4 years, using Computervision CADDS3, CADDS4 and CADDS4X.

That's great for Dobbs and glad he has something to fall back on. It does seem we see this same article every year since he arrived at Tennessee. With NASA privatizing so much, maybe he should go make that coin at SpaceX or Boeing.

It is an easy thing to confuse supporting a team vs supporting a coach but CBJ vs Pruitt are hardly comparable. CBJ was a mid-major guy and the question was could he hack it in the big league. Pruitt is a big league guy who has been world class as a deputy. The question for him is can he be equally effective as the top dog. Two very different questions and in some ways easier to asses the leadership jump vs the environment jump, IMO.

CJP is a football coach. Hornblower Lyle will never be. IMO, a coach is part of the team and should be supported until fired. And fired most will be. Very few head coaches have long tenures at SEC schools. As such, coach worship is bad for a program.

Damn... I live 3 miles from KSC. I wonder if he's still around. I know where to go eat around here... well... I did know where to eat.

Stupid lockdown.

I was with Intergraph. Remember computer vision and Apollo workstations. The old token ring! Good days except for one. Challenger was my first launch to watch. I was in the VAB area- about 3 miles from the pad.

I'm highly confident that young man will be successful at whatever he wishes to do, or better yet, be. Hell, he already is, but people like him never stop until the day they die. Having said all this, go work for SpaceX young man, I did for a brief period of time and I can tell you this: nobody like Elon Musk on this planet. If you want to truly innovate you can do no better.
