Do you wish TN kept Tahj Boyd?

I hope this is the last I have to hear about Boyd. He's not here, won't be coming here, doesn't matter.

You're right it doesn't matter just like Chris Simms not coming but 10 years later his name still comes up in a thread or 10.

Phoebus completely demolished everyone around. Look at his game stats/scores and see how many times he had to throw. It's much easier to put up stats when there's no team that can even challenge yours

his stats look fine to me...Jr: he had 69.3% completion rate 131 of 189, 2,059 yds, 25 TD...Sr: threw for 1,900 yards and 29 touchdowns and rushed for 450 yards and two touchdowns.

No. Absolutely not.

I'm not sure how they do it but this staff has done a good job of sensing when a player has issues and then avoiding them. I was enamoured with the big OL from the Memphis area (Phillips) that UT lost to FSU. He quit the team before fall practice even started.

I personally doubt that Boyd ever sees the field at Clemson barring injury.

Take Michael Vick from VT, Take Vince Young from Texas and take Tim Tebow from UF and none of those schools come close to a NC during the years they played.

UT could not win a NC with Peyton Manning, but got one with Vick.

A QB who has the ability to take off on the run keeps defenses back so much that it has been the most important single position in terms of taking very good teams and making them the NC winner.

I am very excited about Coach Kiffin, I think he is an absolutely brilliant guy who works incredibly hard, who will bring in great recruits and develop them. His recruits will be kids who end up looking like an NFL team, an offense like USC and a defense like Tampa Bay.

Bryce Brown could be a Reggie Bush and we have tons of playmakers who can take a short throw and break a tackle and take it to the house.

It is just tough to think about not having a fast QB who can pick up the 1st with his legs. Matt Mauck ran all over our pro style and very fast defense because Chavis could not defend the option (ever under any circumstances) but overall in CFB those fast QBs have been important.

I also am expecting tomorrow for Rich Rod to use his fast QB to beat ND.

Do not come back to me with the Juice Williams example. You have to be excellent, not good, at running and you have to be surrounded by good if not great players to win the NC.

You think the Vols won a NC with Vick???
Never speak to me again about UT Football.
Good day, sir.
I SAID GOOD DAY!!!

Tajh Boyd would look like troy aikman compared to what we're f-ing stuck with for the rest of the year at qb.

Agree, the guy has 0 gameday abilities. I rarely talk bad about players but I can not WAIT until I never have to look at his face again.

How in the Hell do you know that? He's 3rd string at Clemson behind a future baseball player.

Agreed. I'd kill for Boyd right now, and I bet LK would too, though he would/should never admit it. Moreover, I'd kill for Bryce Petty and/or BJ Coleman right now. The QB position lost us the game today plain and simple. If we have a QB who can simple protect the ball and throw for 100yards we win. Man, this is sad to watch.

Boyd wouldn't be playing for UT right now - otherwise Kiffin wouldn't have told him to look at other options - so no I do not wish UT would have kept Boyd.

You'd kill for a QB who just barely won the UTC starting job? Or for a QB who only had one D-1 offer?

Right; a guy with a torn ACL and a guy who threw 2 interceptions and lost to Furman tonight. That’s the answer.

If I remember correctly CLK said that he would not play QB but could come play another position. What position are you wishing he came here for?
He absolutely did not. He told him he'd ride the bench.
Tahj blew his knee and would not be available this year so why would BJ's decision to leave affect Kiffins desire to have Boyd?

Doesn't every player get 5 years of eligibility? I don't see your point here.

He's not completely healthy yet. He was slowed down learning the offense due to his injury and is likely going to redshirt. From all accounts, he's been nothing but impressive with what he's been able to do.

Tajh Boyd has looked the part this August. He's solidly built, he seems comfortable in the pocket, and the ball pops from his hand like he's throwing a baseball. If not for a bulky knee brace, you'd never suspect the freshman underwent ACL reconstruction surgery in January.

Redshirt Boyd remains upbeat The Post and Courier - Charleston SC newspaper

One inteception, 2 TDs, lost to Furman. You're batting
.667. Not bad with a team that won 1 game last year. What was Crompton's excuse?

with the offensive weapons that tennessee has all a qb has to do is go 20 for 27 or somewhere in that area and have about 180 to 200 yards passing no turn overs and 2 or 3 touchdowns a game and we go 8 and 4 or 9 and 3
