Do you want him back?

If you allow the players to run the team and or make the rules, that team will fail.

Not every offense is equal. If it was something small, discipline and bring him back. Kicking him off the team is excessive for a team rule violation. Dismissal, in my opinion, should be saved for something far more drastic.

And what if the team makes the call? What if the team decides its own fate. In a scenario like this, I'd support that. If they think he deserves to stay, let him stay and work.

No.

Blanc, Bowles, Croom, Howard, Patterson will all benefit from DR's exit.

Janzen was not savior for '11 team...DR is not for '12 team.

We'll be a better team in '12 and more experience at WR in '13 due to his exit.

I'll say this, depending on the team rule, I'd definitely want him back. If it was anything remotely minor, sit him for the first half or first game, then get him back in the lineup. When was the last time a team "cancer" truly affected a college team?

I'm not sure about the last one but for the Vols Kelly Washington and 2001-2002 Vols comes to mind.

I am going on results. When some guys put up some numbers in some wins that matter, then their is your answer.

His stats from last year mean nothing.

He dominated everyone who lined up against him WHILE THE D FOCUSED IN ON HIM. You have no idea what you are talking about.

No he did not. He had 3 SEC games with less than 40 yards and 3 more with less than 75.

He is off the team, I knew what I was talking about months ago.

Did that destroy our team, though? Did he stop us from winning? He had a TD and 140 yards against LSU. I feel like he isn't to blame for us not winning it all that year.

We didn't play LSU in 2002.

Cancer = talking Donte Stallworth into declaring early for draft instead of returning for 2002 senior year.

Yeah KW definitely cost us some games in '02.

Not at fault for '01...that was terrible D vs Matt Mauck and costly turnovers

Da'Rick is all about Da'Rick

If he cared about this team, he would fly straight

Yea but nobody wants to hear that. Not the potheads anyway. They act like its nothing & should be legal like that's the cure all. Even if it was legal there's no university gonna change the policy. The NCAA won't change it's policies. Corporations aren't gonna stop testing for it when they hire people or when there's an accident. Maybe Da'Rick can hook up with some guys on here & start up a flag football team or something & blaze up 24/7.

Uh that team should have won the nc. The players on the team will tell you that Kelly was a cancer effecting unity and morale. It's hard to quantify how it effected the won lose record but I know that team was the most talented team we had had in a long time.

Good post!! Funny too!

What is "terrible D?". Is it effected by things like heart, dedication, sacrifice? Those are the things on a team that a cancer effects.

That's fine, but my view is that we wouldn't have done as well without Kelley Washington, and that he is also not the reason we didn't win the national championship.

In my opinion, 2001 Kelley Washington is proof that you can have a kid on your team who has some personal issues, but you can win regardless. Defense is the only reason we didn't win the National Championship, not 1 diva wide out.

That is total Bullsh**!

Fulmer is the only reason we didnt win it all with that talented team. I was in Atlanta and knew it was over at halftime, and we were winning@!

At this point its stupid to say a one loss team didnt succeed because of one player. Fulmer blew it in Atlanta. And oddly, I dont recall Washington being a problem in the Michigan game.

i cant believe how many people keep supporting him and say its no big deal... ITS A BIG DEAL so lets say coach says ok we need u come back and get ready to play after every knows the kid does not like directions or rules... to me it makes the coach look weak but jmo Dooley needs to show he aint screwing around. this aint rogers team play by the rules or get out... of course its a huge blow and i hate it but enough drama lets play ball

We don't want him back as a bible study leader we want him back f#$%ing sh#t up in the SEC. Yeah he has a ****ty attitude and he is a dumbass but so are most athlete like him.

Bruce Feldman puts it this way in his article in 2002.

"He's dubbed himself The Future. Some around the team and the local media, though, call him something else -- The Cancer. No sweat. He didn't come back to make friends, either."

Tennessee defensive back Julian Battle puts it this way;

"His antics might help some," Battle says, "but at a certain point it breaks down the team, makes us compete against each other. We're supposed to be a team."

Dante Stallworth says he felt duped that Washington was coming out and that Washington wanted to be the Vols' go-to guy.

Washington sat himself for the Wyoming opener even though coaches and trainers supposedly cleared him for play.

Yes. No way we beat Florida this year. Losing him will cost us 2 or 3 games.

No it won't, having him has cost us already. There isn't a single game I can point to that I can say he really took over but you can look at the Kentucky game and see what influence he can have on others negatively. Just think how differently last season would have been viewed without that loss to UK.

Two new studies show that pot actually slows and inhibits cancer.:)
And your wrong, If made legal the Universities would have to allow just like alcohol laws. Private companies would be a little tricky but it would just take one lawsuit to change. Ill shut up now and go back to my man made prozac instead a plant that god created.
