That Butch will keep his job at the end of the season because Tennessee will make the choice not to enter the coaching carousel.

In other words, they would rather not compete with the abnormally large amount of vacancies that exist and battle over the potential candidates out there and wait for next season where there will be less competition for top candidates and the price tag won’t be as large.

Just wondering if you all think that is a potential factor in the decision making going on

I hope not. We're far enough behind as is. We better be aggressive this time around

The reason her is still there is because they don't want to enter the carousel... Currie iss trying to work behind the scenes to get a couch secured and locked up before making a move..

Everyone remember.. patience, it's a virtue

They've been on that carousel for about a month already.

Shoop says you're stupid if you don't know what's going on.

UT is being advised by two top VFLs. PM and PF. We'll see how it turns out.

How's y'all early start at finding a HC going?

Are y'all still denying the death threats towards your HC his family and players by Florida fans?

The price tag won't go down since coaching salaries are increasing far faster than rate of inflation.

And if LSU, Auburn, or A&M dont lose coaches this year, they could next...Next year could be the Jimbo sweepstakes (which opens up FSU).

***** that. This is one of the best jobs available. Our top target is on no one else’s list b/c no one else has a shot. We have some of the best facilities, we can and will pay for a top coach this time, TN in-state recruiting is incredible right now and on an upward trend. Right now we have 30 4 or 5 stars instate between 2018-2020 and that number could go to 40+. Not mention we can go into VA, NC, and north GA without having to go very far.

I'm just having a hard time believing that. Nothing to this point gives me any confidence that Currie knows what he's doing.

Not even so much as a "Butch won't be back next year" from Currie is what bothers me. Why not put some minds at ease that something will be done and send the message that losing half your games in year 5 isn't acceptable?

true, but he hasn't had long enough to give us do anything that shows he doesn't either... i believe that he is trying to do this as smoothly as possible.. also, he doesn't want to make Butch look any less desirable than he already does.. the school benefits if he gets another job

one sports talk radio show said part of it was because he is working with Fulmer, and Fulmer wanted Currie not to do things the way they did with him.. but idk

If they retain him they are dumber than I thought. Don't know how they are gonna pay those renovations without fans attending games.

Maybe we can get this couch. 4 Touchdowns in one game. It's the same # of offensive touchdowns that we've scored in 5 SEC games this year. Of course, if we got inside the 1, Butch would line up in the shotgun instead of giving it to this All-City FB.

Not competing would be par for the course for the TN athletic department administration the past few years...............

Think we could hire Al Bundy as our next coach?
