Do you think Oklahoma goes after coach Huepel after this season?

Castiglione won’t go after Heupel regardless how the season goes for OU. It’s really simple unless you’re freaking tombo
I said I had no idea if OU would target him or not. You're arguing against something I never said. I said it was silly to suggest they would make a decision on the result of a single game. That is all.

Do they go after him? Eventually, yes…. We should hope that he’s good enough for schools to go after him.

Would he leave us? Doubt it.

With the team OU is fielding, I think Venables will be fine. He is building OU up to compete in the SEC. They could win 9-10 games this year. I think 8-4 is their floor.

I see them ending up somewhere between 7-5 and 9-3. We'll see.

That defense is legit
Eh, they are facing a true freshman in his first road start. BV loves to dial up the disguised coverages, which give fits to a lot of QBs.

I would save the praise for when they face a real offense. Last year they looked legit too and even Nico beat them over the top that first half.

True but just the eye test shows that OU's defense is solid and they were pretty good last year as well. Offense isn't great but it is improved from 2024 and that will make them a contender IMO. They don't need an elite Offense, they just need a mid-tier Offense to compete with the defense they have.

They’re good. They were last year too. Venables can coach defense. Offense is another story…

Personally, I'm still more worried about Alabama going after Pruitt. Thank God this board had the foresight to warn us about it.

Bama coming after Pruitt, Michigan coming after Jones...sometimes I consider the silliness that we got upset about over the years. Kiffin bolting for USC really left us with some Vol PTSD.

Dooley to Georgia after we whip em next week.

Oklahoma looked unstoppable against Michigan. The Sooners are the real deal this year. They may not be looking for a coach at season's end.

I think Coach Heupel values loyalty. He didn't like what Nico did to him, and he probably doesn't like what Oklahoma did to him. Let's hope Tennessee shows him the loyalty he deserves.

Finally, he has a couple of teenaged kids. They probably won't want to leave Knoxville and all of their friends until college.
