It’s not an interesting topic right now, he loves it here and him and DW are tighter than him and Oklahoma. He grew up in South Dakota it’s not like he grew up in Oklahoma, he just played there and they let him go. The interesting topic right now is the season is less than a week away, this topic is pure regurgitating garbage, especially right before our opening game. GBO! I am out of this thread now, carry on with the drivel. GBOJust an interesting topic and football season is just around the corner so I'm antsy lol
I didn’t realize the brought in a guy that threw for over 3k yards, albeit that’s relative much like Aguilar. We saw what Nico did against NC State vs OSU. Much of that has to do with OL play though. Seems Oklahoma struggled there last year, and they lost TEN of their guys. They also lost their best receivers along with a handful of others. So… a lot to ramp up season 1 .One of those cases where turnover is a good thing I think. QB play will be much improved, and the defense is going to be gnarly.
I have no idea if they would go after Heupel or not. But I do assume anyone who becomes athletic director at Oklahoma is smart enough not to base decisions on sample sizes of one game.IF…OU wins in Knoxville, why would they court a HC that they beat?? My guess is that if OU has a successful season, then when Venables does get canned, Arbuckle is promoted.
Yeah it'll be interesting to say the least. A Venables defense is always going to throw stuff at an offense that they don't normally see. Oklahoma wasn't a good team last year, but their defense kept them in just about every game. A new QB who slings the ball around could make things really interesting.I didn’t realize the brought in a guy that threw for over 3k yards, albeit that’s relative much like Aguilar. Chances are Venables is probably going to be garbage again and I'm not going to be surprised to see them go full throttle after Josh.
Do you think he leaves us for them?

I think that was more on Fulmer- I think he just lost his eye for talent. He let generational players go else where. Patrick Willis grew up a UT fan and wanted to come here, Golden Tate, and Donta Hightower all Tennessee kids that he let go else whereRight, but before NIL, Tennessee struggled to recruit at the end of the Fulmer era.

The drop in NFL draftees at the end of Phil’s career will tell you all you need to know about his complacency and drop in recruiting. I don’t have the numbers anymore but the drop in draft numbers from 2002-2007 was drastic compared to 1997-2002. Especially for rounds 1 thru 3.I think that was more on Fulmer- I think he just lost his eye for talent. He let generational players go else where. What? You're going to have to explain your logic. Because this comparison makes no sense. And how many samples were required to retain the Champion of Life coach?? OU won’t approach CJH. And Castiglione doesn’t retire until 2028. He’ll look for someone other than Heupel.

You said they wouldn't target Heupel if they beat him in Knoxville. I simply pointed out how silly that was. Not sure how Butch came into the conversation, or how it's relevant to a conversation about single game sample sizes.
