We are heading into another rebuilding year and things aren't going to be pretty for a few more years. Not long term, but do you think we would be in better shape today and even next year if we still had Fulmer? It's impossible to tell, but what are your opinions?
Losing to Wyoming wouldn't have me ever expecting an 8-4 year with Failmer.
Get out of here with this foolishness!Speaking as a fan of the game and not as a Gator fan... Yes, I think Fulmer would have had success long term and that you guys wouldn't have these many rebuilding years. He won the SEC east prior to having the infamous losing season and was one of the most winningest coaches in the nation. He was very conservative, although I would also argue the game did not pass him by. If he ever coaches again, he will succeed with that team.
What are you trying to say?:furious3:
Get off the Wyoming game, yes it was a bad loss but Fulmer had no control over how the team played that day.
What happens if Fulmer doesn't get fired before that game? Then we probably win out and go to a bowl, Fulmer would have had a Top-10 recruiting class and we might have had a 7-5 season in 2009.
And then we would have this season, with stability probably expecting around 8-4.
He apparently didn't have any control about how the team played the whole season. Bottomline, if Cutcliffe had stayed we might have been able to expect 8-4. Without him, we could expect more of what we saw in '05 and '08.
No, I'm saying Cutcliffe is the only thing that kept him from being fired earlier.
So what your saying is Fulmer made a bad hire and that was the reason he was fired? So the game hasn't passed him by?
