LG, Merry Christmas to you, too. It's always nice to have some sensible and respectful posts from our adversaries around here.

I know a lot of you will hate me for it, but I'll be a Gator fan come NC time.

My brothers and I used to have some knock-down-drag-outs when I was a kid. Nothing I'd rather do than whip them in a game of "Horse" or embarrass them at Monopoly. Embarrass, and THEN taunt them and make fun of how stupid they were. But, by God, if somebody else picked on them. . . .well, it was almost the same as them picking on me.

I kind of view the SEC as my football family. Loaded with tradition, rivalry, vengeance, and even jealousy at times. . . .but still family. That's our year-in/year-out meat, and we only occasionally feed on various other conference foes. As far as I can tell, anything that boosts our conference's strength makes winning said conference even more impressive (and we can agree that winning the SEC is our goal, right?).

So, no, you won't catch me doing the stupid "chomp" or singing along with the band. But screw Ohio State. Screw the Big Ten. This is SEC country and I say GO GATORS. Err. . . .at least until January 9.

Until I went to college and met a lot of non-SEC fans, I didn't care what happened to the other SEC teams. Now, I always cheer for every SEC team when they're out of conference.
(But it's never been harder to do so than in this year's NC game.)

The Gator Nation welcomes you, even if its just for 3 hours!

And let me add that I will be rooting for UT on 1/1/07.

And if Florida/OSU was being played at the Sugar Bowl, I wouldn't care all that much, but I'd probably lean toward being a Gator fan....

As much as I am a Gator Hater (especially living in St. Pete.) I have to pull for the SEC Team. With TN losing by one point---UGHH--- to Florida. It will make us look better. I think we need to support the SEC.

I find it impossible to root against someone for 364 days out of the year, and then root for them in 1 game. In no way do we benefit from UF winning the NC, so I will be recruiting against them.

GO BUCKEYES!!!

I always pull for the SEC in OOC games, whether it be regular season or bowl season.

Florida will be no different in the NCG.

I am definitely hoping the Gators pull this thing out. It doesn't make sense to me why so many of you are so hesitant to pull for the SEC. The only possible logical reason I can think of is that it will help a team we have to play every year in recruiting. From the early reports, however, we don't seem to be lacking too far behind them even with 3 losses.

Other than that aspect, it is just an emotional reason; maybe because you hate the Gators or whatever.

I'd rather live in a world where people think the Big Ten is a superior football conference than I would a world that Florida is crowned National Champions in basketball and football within a 12 month window.
Keeps the pressure on us!

I live in Ohio so I cannot stand another year of how great the Ohio State football program is.

Not to mention how great the lil' 11 are........

Go gators........:)

Good, I'm glad the last bunch of you have chimed in. I felt for a moment at first I was the only one who wanted to see the Gators do the SEC proud.

As much as I loath those slimey reptiles, I'd rather see the consensus #1 team go down.

Does the fact that we lost by one point to them show how good Tenn. football can be or does it really not say anything about the state of Tenn. football because it is just viewed as a tough rival game?
