Do you have a Vol Jersey? What Number?

I bought a 31 in 1999 my Jr yr of HS. This was before I was a Vols fan. I just liked it and it was 50% off at Bleacher Bums (go figure I grew up in PA). Anyway, I wore it a handful of times and ended up goin into the AF after graduation. After basic and aircraft maintenance tech school, I received orders to Italy for 2 years.

While at Aviano AFB I enrolled at the U of Maryland Europe. I met what came to be 3 of my best friends. We went to school together, crewed jets together, and traveled Europe together.
We quickly realized all 4 of us were 4 year enlistment guys with aspirations of attending a University after our enlistment ended. We decided it would be cool, convientient, and cost efficient if all 4 choose the same school.

I was from PA, as I mentioned, and the others hailed from KY, VA and CA. I was accepted to Penn State and West Virginia already, however these schools wouldn't work for all 4 of us.

We ended up all liking UT and sumitted our applications. In 2005 all of our 4 year enlistments expired and we did what we all swore to 3 Years before. I went back to PA to pack my things. My mother brought a box of clothes down from the attic. I rummaged through a variety of skate shirts and other clothes I sported in HS to be reunited with the 31 jersey. It blew my mind, I forgot that I had bought it 6 years prior. I packed up my Uhaul and pointed that thing South.

In the end, only 2 of us ended up graduating. Myself and my buddy from Cali.
I wore that 31 jersey to every game (didn't miss one even tho they made us start to pay for tickets my senior yr 09)

Call it irony, call it fate or whatever you like. For me, it gave me a sense of assurance that I made a good choice. I was happy and I was headed to my new home for the next 4 years. It was the best foreshadowing I've ever encountered in my life and that's why I will continue to rock my 31. VFL

I bought a #21 when Austin Rogers was here. Luckily, Da'Rick took it.

Picked my #21 up at Goodys going out of business for small change...thank goodness Da'Rick took it....:) Might actually wear it sometime now while mowing the lawn.

Don't own a single one. Wearing a jersey to a game and not being on the field of play = douchebag imo. Unless you're the mother of that player.

I own a few but they are all framed. My favorite would probably be Kevin Burnetts or Travis Henry's Cotton Bowl jersey.

Great story! Thanks for sharing.

I have two #22 jerseys, one orange and one white. Bought them because 22 has been my number since I was 11. Coker was wearing it when I got it and now Wilks. Got them for $10 each to boot.
