Because of the Civil War, or because we talk funny, or what? I have 2 great friends from the Army that live in Knox Couty, and they have no answers. So, in the anonymity of the internet, tell me why you hate me for being from north of the Ohio and Potomac Rivers.
Erroneous! Erroneous on all counts! Not even geography, really. I hate them because they buy players and, ultimately, championships. I hate to say this, but I wouldn't even like the Vols if they could buy championships and did so. Just not very sportsman-like. Probably more a criticism of the major league baseball system than it is the Yankees, but they seem to benefit most from the current system than anyone else.

That argument against the Yankee's is incredibly trite and most obviously dishonest. There is not a sports fan out there who would not want their team's management to do all they could to put the best product on the field.
Not at all. I am not a Yankee's fan. I am a Royals fan (which, btw, is the other end of the spectrum). However, when it comes down to hating MLB teams, I would definitely place the Red Sox at the top of that list. A fan base whose team spends plenty of money, trying to accomplish what the Yankees have done, yet they are always the loudest and most vocal in stating that the "Yankees (or evil empire) buys championships".Of course not. We all wish our teams had the same resources available. But of course, many of us didn't happen to grow up in the New York area. So it's really just a question of who's a frontrunning, glory-hunting, bandwaggoning bastard, isn't it?
Present day Red Sox fans are simply Cubs fans who converted circa 2004. Cubs fans were simply disloyal to whichever hometown club they were tired of hopelessly rooting for, so they found solidarity in hopelessly rooting for a "loveable loser."We're absolutely on the same page w/r/t the Red Sox and their fans. After decades of trying to beat the Yankees, they finally won by, well, BECOMING the Yankees. There's no real difference between the two teams to me at this point.
Much of the hatred I directed at the Patriots this year had nothing to do with them, really, but because I'm so done with the Sox fans. It's just amazing how much more, uh, apparent the Boston fans have made themselves over the last few years. We sure didn't see much of them down here back in the mid 90s, did we?
Yuck! I've never tasted anything worse than sweet tea...
And we do have it here in the QCA... but it's not popular.
