that if Jeremy Pruitt wins the National Championship at Bama, this could potentially save our recruiting class? Initially we were ranked 6th and now we've fallen down to 27th according to 247. We've lost some key recruits like Cade Mays as an example. Having a recent NC winning coach like Jeremy Pruitt would make Tennessee look much more appealing to prospective recruits.

Zero information here

Pruitt cannot win the NC at Bama.. he can lose it but whether or not Bama wins it all is on the offense. Look at who they play. Sadly its lose lose for UT fans. NC game will be UGA vs Bama unless something crazy happens.

For me its win win.. I always want the SEC to win and an SEC vs SEC finals isa win for the whole conference. But I know a lot of you are haters so it will suck (for you)

Rooting for Bama because they are in the SEC is like rooting for the Devil because he's in the Bible

You will have to expound on how it would help Tennessee? The NC winning coach would be Nick Saban, not Pruitt.

I will never understand the conference allegiance. Every time the Updykes win another championship they get stronger. Why do we want them to get stronger? If the only way the SEC ever wins another NC is alabama wins it, I hope they never sniff another one. The only way I will EVER pull for the gumps is if ISIS fields a team and they play each other.

Endless amounts of threads claiming we shoukd root for Alabama, rooting for the sec helps Tennessee etc.

I have yet to see how the sec winning, what 7 or so of the last 10 NC has helped Tennessee in the slightest?

I think most use it as a consolation prize. "We may suck but it's bc we are in the SEC." Its stupid and only makes it harder for us to catch up to the Jones's (not Butch.)

Thinking we can still get a top 15-20 class. Look what Kiffin did when taking over for Phil. Early sign period is going to hurt. No doubt.

We only have 14 commits right now and are #30. If we just fill up our 25 slots with all 3-4* players that will get us in the top 20. Probably won't get any 5* this year unless we can flip Cade Mays back to us.

Yeah, i think so to. I live in Alabama and am surrounded by bama fans every day. I hope they never win again, in any sport.

This is not a very large logical leap to make. Kirby Smart at Georgia won the Nattie at Bama as DC. As a result, his 2017 recruiting class at Georgia skyrocketed to number 3 in the nation. That recruiting class contained Jake Fromm, a quarterback that has now led Georgia to the CFP, and will possibly lead them to a National Championship in only year 2.

Recruits saw Kirby's success at Bama as proof that he is a championship caliber coach. Recruits will see the same thing in Jeremy Pruitt if he wins at Bama.

I dont follow recruiting at all so i dont know when those kids committed and if their commitment was a direct result of Smart being the DC on a NC team.

If it makes you feel better to believe so, then so be it. I am not going for Alabama to win a game, i dont care what it may or may not help. Luckily, for your theory it doesnt matter at all if everyone on this board goes for Alabama or not, it will have exactly zero effect on the outcome.

If cruits can't realize by now that he is a championship defensive coach then i dont know what to tell them

Cross your fingers for Bama vs UGA since Bama vs LSU was one of the many things that led up to the playoff being a reality. A bama vs UGA championship will be strike 1 in the ‘add more games to the play offs’ crowd

You won't win this argument. I've tried for years.

Certainly not with me,lol. i would have a difficult time rooting for Alabama if even if there was a proven direct relation to the success of Tennessee. No way it heck id root for them on a maybe it might somehow help Tennessee, a little.

Tennessee is capable (or at least should be) of recruting well and winning without needing help from Alabama, so ill go with that.
