DD put his own butt on the hot seat. This years team looked pathetic and never got better.DD has 1 excuse after another and has no problem throwing players under the bus.The only one hurting our recruiting is DD.wins/loss are what kills recruiting not the fans or message boards.

You'd have a point, except for the recruiting. It's amazing we are as high up as we are with the season we just had.

Everyone has patience. Patience is the reason expectations were so low this year. The fact that Dooley couldn't live up to them is pretty pathetic.

Seriously? Asking for him to be fired after two years is patience? Surely you aren't that stupid.

You are absolutely correct. However the loss to Ky. hurt our recruiting efforts and that was not the fault of the fans.
Dooley saying publicly that it is probably best that we didn't go to a bowl game, did not help the situation. What Dooley said was not the fault of the fans.
Hart not coming out after the Ky. loss and giving a public statement of confidence of Dooley keeping his job, did not help the recruiting situation. Hart remaining silent on that issue was not the fault of the fans.
An S.E.C. receiver on the team protraying disrespect towards the staff and protraying an image of un-stability on the team, is not the fans fault.
Yes, I agree that the parents of these recruits may read these posts on occasion to get insight but losing to Ky,. Hart not showing a vote of confidence to Dooley, Dooley's statement about us missing a bowl game and Roger's dis respect towards the staff didn't help at all.
I see shared blame on this and not total blame on the fans.
We all need to post positive comments and show patience.

Expecting to beat Kentucky is irrational and delusional?

Expecting a freshman All-SEC center to, at worst, stay the same is irrational and delusional?

Good grief, get over the Kentucky loss!! What, did you expect it to go on forever? Seriously?

Expecting Dooley (or any coach) to come in here and win more than 7 games with our schedule and depth/talent issues (not to mention key injuries) is irrational and delusional.

Don't get me wrong, I wish we could win an SECC and NC every year, but come on, please be realistic about the state of our football program.

I agree about the recruiting but signing day isnt here yet. What happens if this class falls apart? Not saying it will but after today, nothing will surprise me.

What happens if this class gets stronger and we win 10 games next year? See, I can do this too.

Are you on the "ESPN hates us" bandwagon too?

I expect Tennessee and its fans to not settle for mediocrity.

Yep, expecting us to beat the worst Kentucky team in 20 years when we've got a bowl game on the line is exactly the same thing as expecting to win a national championship every year. Identical.

To keep his job, he'll probably have to break his personal best regular season win total.

Not lofty expectations, but he's still on the hot seat.

7-8 Wins and Dooley is safe. I know it's not what fans want to hear, but it's reality.

Because Tennessee has historically recruited poorly right?

How great have we recruited following a 5-7 season? Name another team in the top 25 in recruiting this year who isn't going to a bowl? I'll wait patiently for your answer. I know it will take you a while.
