.... what you ask for whether you want it or not?

Rather than continue to answer posts all over the place, I'll just say it once here.

Those constantly posting and starting threads about firing Dooley are "asking" for a particular football program. They are asking for a program set another year or more back. They are asking for a roster made up of players not talented enough to win in the SEC... they are asking for the mediocrity or even failure that they are claiming to condemn. They are asking for a football program where once again a new coach with probably a light resume will come into a VERY difficult situation.

You are trying to put Dooley on the hot seat you think he deserves. In doing that, you are providing fodder for other programs to negative recruit. If you get what you want then in addition to the generally depressed state of the program and competition of the SEC and tough recruiting situation UT faces.... candidates for the job will have to consider a roster that won't be as good as it might have been AND realize that they too are probably gone in short order if they don't pull of a miracle.

So "fans", keep it up. The two most likely results of your efforts are a) a weaker roster and b) a less attractive job to try to sell the next coach on.

BTW, congrats. Today is evidence that your persistence is paying off.

And YES... there will be a time to hold the UT HC accountable for W/L's. And YES... losing hurts recruiting credibility.... but what can fans do about that? Nothing. If DD loses then he falls regardless... what fans say though can hurt the whole program.

condensed version: We can't get anybody better than what we've got and negative mesage board posters are to blame for Dooley's recruiting failures. Do you have any records that aren't broken in your collection?

Dooley's seat is already hot. For the record, I had nothing to do with it. I blame Joker Phillips and Randy Sanders.

Ridiculous.

There you have it freak, shut down the board. sjt18 has spoken

No. What is ridiculous is cutting yourself with a dull knife.

You really don't think there's anything to talk about but "fire Dooley"?

What will restore the program justin? With or without a new coach does losing quality recruits help get UT back to a championship level?

Not to blame. Just a contributing factor. Not even the primary factor... but enough to make a difference.

Dooley is responsible for a 5-7 season this year. He is the head coach. The fanbase is pissed that a bargain basement hire isn't working out.

The fans are tired of being reminded that "just because you start for Tennessee doesn't mean you're any good" or that Bray broke his thumb or Hunter tore his ACL.

The man has done nothing but offer excuse after excuse and actually went backwards this year. There is no reason a guy like James Stone turns into a bench warmer. Saying he's not physically strong enough is a direct reflection on the staff.

There's no reason a guy like Brent Brewer becomes non existent or a CB never turn to find the ball in the air.

A 5-7 season speaks for itself. The fans don't have to do anything.

Jesus Christ, If Dooley can't handle some people on a message board being pissed about the product thus far on the field, he is even more over his head than some posters on here think.

No there's not. The man got beat by the worst Kentucky team to take a snap in 18 years or so. He made no improvements whatsoever.

A coach that's not a proven loser.

If the coach isn't a proven loser, he may be able to hang onto recruits.

I would love nothing more than for 5 years of saying a coach isn't any good to be thrown out the window and be wrong.

Horsecrap, the coaches are responsible for the product put on the field. There is absolutely zero excuse whatsoever for the pathetic display of utter ineptitude that was the UK game.

It sounds like you're asking fans to turn a blind eye to poor performance.

As much as I hate to admit it.. you are right (nothing personal) I hate admitting that UK can do ANYTHING that could disrupt Tennessee's football program.

Expecting to beat Kentucky is irrational and delusional?

Expecting a freshman All-SEC center to, at worst, stay the same is irrational and delusional?

CDD probably doesn't even know this stupid place exists.

the whole it was a backup WR running the offense holds no water. it is not like the guy threw for 500 yards he was running a freaking wing-t a bit of googling will probably show he was a HS option qb. Who the heck better to run such an offense?
