Do you expect to beat Georgia?

Toss up game. Our offense is miles ahead of theirs, but the reverse is true for the defenses.

Tell me what you mean when you say "you know". He made some stupid coaching calls against Arky but nutter butter is horrible. He went for it and didn't make it against UGA and was VERY lucky that Trip Chandler dropped a 3rd down pass. He made calls on both sides of the ball that I found puzzling. The team where he made his reputation is winning more now than when he was there. LSU will probably win the national title. So why is he such a good coach? He has exactly 2 ten or more win seasons, 2001 at LSU then 13 wins in 2003. He had two 8 and two 9 win seasons there as well. His bowl record is 4-4.

I laugh at all the "other coach is great" people. In addition to the Saban facts, you can look at:
Richt: It's been over a year since he won an SECE game.
Spurrier: 15-10 last two seasons at USC

We have a chance...we can move the ball on anyone...we have two weeks to get ready...tighten up a few things.

yeah, because SC is such a traditionally rich, winning program. 2 of those 15 wins came against FL and TN....in the same season. a feat that no one has ever accomplished at SC.

it's all relative. 15-10 at SC is much different than 15-10 at TN.

SC beat a UF team that would go 8-3, and a UT team that went 5-6, a game that UT fumbled away and should have won. big whoop.

It's still 15-10. Nothing more, nothing less.

Mike Shula beat both UT and UF in the same 2005 season. I guess Shula and Spurrier were on the same page that year.

I guess you don't count 1987 through 2001 for the OBC?

He will be a HOF coach based on those years. It's funny that the legacy from UF (and, ummmm, Duke) makes him a great coach in 2007. Yet, based on the what has he done for me lately theory, it's time for Fulmer to go.

IE, you simply don't get the point. not everything is an apples to apples comparison.

:clap:Agreed, if we are at a point were we base our program on what SC has done with or without Spurrier we are lower than I thought...

I'm pretty sure that wasn't the point either. At least I hope not. Since comparing our program and USC was never brought up. I think Jake was eluding to comparing UAT and USC.

I expect us to beat UGA every year.... not always happens, but I do expect it. This year is no exception

 though the same would apply to comparing USC to UTK...it's just different, in expectations, history, basically everything. USC is an up and comer. UTK, UAT, FL, LSU, Auburn, GA etc...are the "blue bloods" of the SEC.

in other words, SC fans will still be satisfied with an 8 or 9 win season this year or any year.

the same can't be said of UTK or UAT (in most years anyway).

I just don't see USC as "an up and comer". Time will tell.

With Spurrier running things, they are. He's done nothing but good for SC in his time there.

SC with a mature Garcia running the offense next year will be different. he is a small Tebow. it will be very exciting to see him under spurrier's spread again next year. never discount spurrier anywhere. he will win two a year that he is not supposed to win and the the other W's seem to come with ease...including UT this year. he will beat us, no question, because it will come to coaching.

georgia will be easier than SC, especially after seeing stafford under pressure, he will pick us apart if we don't have pass ruch that afternoon, but if we can pressure stafford, he is very careless.
